Okay, my friend, here's PART ONE of the Secrets of the Black Vault:

From the Records of the Sacred Order
    24.10.18

We have known ever since the existence of the Order was confirmed by Joe Dawson that its Immortals have in their possession secrets and artefacts that, if revealed, could change history as we know it. Their Black Vault, overseen by the Master of the Black Books, is purported to contain the lost treasure of the Knights Templar, the Spear of Destiny, and even the Ark of the Covenant. But perhaps most valuable of all is the secrets contained in tablets, scrolls and papers the Order rescued from the Great Library of Alexandria and from other buried temples and sacred sites in Europe, South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The Order has classified this information as too devastating to be revealed to mankind at this time.

    The First Immortals

According to what is known to archaeologists and historians, the first civilisations emerged in around the 3rd millennium BC, although city states such as Ur were founded circa 3800 BC. The earliest Immortal in our chronicles is currently recorded as being born in Egypt in 4100 BC. The Order has since uncovered evidence that several great civilisations pre-date the current accepted historical evidence, indicating that humans have existed for much longer than previously believed, but that a Great Cataclysm occurred circa 5600 BC (possibly caused by a meteorite strike) that wiped out all evidence of these mighty empires, the source of the Great Flood myth in most world belief systems.

In the Black Vault are the skeletal remains of an Immortal the Order were unable to identify until recently. The body was recovered from an Antarctic glacier in 1981 after being discovered by a Russian research team. The team was led by a Russian military officer we identified as Immortal Konstantin Boklov, a sometime-ally of the BMR. Russia lost contact with their team and sent a rescue party which found them in late September 81, but the entire team was dead: 12 military officers, 22 civilians and Boklov, beheaded with evidence of a Quickening, and the remains they uncovered were missing. Unknown to us at the time but now confirmed, it was the work of the Order. Instead of sending a Pathfinder and Sentinel to recover the remains, they dispatched The Apostate, who slaughtered the Russians and recovered the body himself. It has taken until the present day for the Order to positively identify and date the skeleton. Found with the body was a sword made of iron and an identified metallic composition. Since the first swords were previously noted to have started being forged in 1600 BC, the Order concluded that knowledge of how to manufacture swords had been lost in the Cataclysm and had to be re-learned from scratch nearly 5,000 years later. The Order were able to estimate the time of death of the Immortal at circa 7000 BC and that he was about 2,000 years old when he died, which dated his birth as circa 9000 BC. The Order firmly believe, from the records in the Black Vault, that he was a guard at the Temple of Poseidon on the continent of Atlantis, at a time when Immortals and mortals lived peacefully side-by-side.

    PART TWO to come...

    Cheers

You have definitely wetted my appetite, Apollo ! Meanwhile... with the first swords having been fabricated around 1600 BC in the Near East, I though best to rectify the death dates for the following Immortals :

There was once an ancient immortal referenced in the chronicles of Magos of Ur for the 19th century BC today formally identified as a past student of Illi-Adda of Assyria and associate of the truly ancient Oromedon of Urkesh, oldest known immortal. His final fate has been found to be a quarry of Tizkar of Sumer in 1460 BC in Babylonia, thus putting a name on another unknown kill of the Sumerian headhunter.

    Menahem

Methos's earliest recorded appearance is placed in the Early Dynastic Period of Sumer when he met the malevolent immortal known as Tizkar of Sumer, around 2600 BC; two hundred years later he is recorded as having met an ancient immortal known as Menahem who told him that Methos, Tizkar and himself weren't exeptional beings : other existed across the world, even in lands that had yet tpo be discovered by mortals. Menahem's chronicles is nearly non-existent as is the case of most of the ancient immortals who disappeared centuries before the comign of Christ, but we do know he was killed by Tizkar in Sumer, around 1350 BC since Tizkar told Carnaban he had killed his teacher fifty years ago before he took he head.

I also would like the secrets of the Black Vault to give us more insight into the African continent, especially Sub-Saharan countries.
There are a lot of stories to be found when studying the history of Kush, of the Empire of Mali or the Songhai Empire...

I have no problem at all with the adjustment, my friend. Appreciate the addition.

As an interlude to the Roman Alvarez chronicle i'm currently finalising the details of an addition to the records of the Sacred Order. Some secrets have been revealed in the Order's Black Vault, secrets that have been hidden from mankind for thousands of years; ancient scrolls detailing ancient advanced civilisations pre-dating the accepted evidence, Immortals living in communities, ruling mighty empires; a great cataclysm, the fabled First Immortals and the true origins of the Game (Memnet-Ra didn't start the Game, he hi-jacked the tradition for his own purposes) and the remains of a decapitated Immortal which the Order have kept hidden for decades who pre-dates the earliest chronicles.

    Coming soon...

I am glad my stories and updates are helping.
Lovely chronicle, very well written and detailed. Great connectiosn to Swenja and Lootje and to Roman Alvarez. Poor guy...
In an effort to represent different ethnies from the Carribbeans in the chronicles and since we have enough British ladies as it is...

    Arabella Rider

    Background
    Original cultural affiliation: Jamaican
Born: 1747, Port Royal, Colony of Jamaica
    British East Indies
First death: 1770; Mistress of British naval officer,
killed in captivity after being kidnapped by pirates

Swenja and Lootje’s favourite student, Arabella Rider was the mistress of a British naval officer stationed in Port Royal, who was abducted in a lightning raid by pirates and killed while trying to escape. Swenja Baatz and Lootje De Groot, themselves pirates at this time, found the spirited Englishwoman hiding out on Tortuga Island a year after she had been killed trying to escape her captors. They brought her into the fold, helped her murder the pirates responsible for her ordeal, and she joined them on their ship, scouring the high seas.

Actress : the lovely Jamaican born, LA based actress Shauna Chin, most known for her role as Richard Blackburn's fiancée Claudine on 'The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate' . Besides, I needed an Immortal woman born in Jamaica. If you don't like her I have in mind the lovely Olivia Pope from tv series Scandal.

Do you agree with this ? I hope my idea is to your liking...

    Background
    Original cultural affiliation: English
Born: 1747, Port Royal, Colony of Jamaica,
    British West Indies
First death: 1770; Daughter of British naval officer,
killed in captivity after being kidnapped by pirates
First teachers: Swenja Baatz & Lootje De Groot

Known past associates: Talia Bauer, Swenja Baatz,
    Lootje De Groot
Known enemies: Roman Alvarez, Amanda of Normandy

First recorded sighting: 1771, Tortuga Island, Hispaniola.
Found by Swenja and Lootje in the pirate stronghold, mentored
by them and became part of their crew

Swenja and Lootje’s favourite student, Arabella Rider was the daughter of a British naval officer and his wife stationed in Port Royal, who was abducted in a lightning raid by pirates and killed while trying to escape.
She was to cross paths with Roman Alvarez in 1796 on the Dutch Gold Coast in West Africa, as a captain of her own pirate ship and now known as Black Bella, where she was buying and selling slaves. Alvarez was there gold mining while secretly rescuing slaves and hiring them as freemen. Rider didn’t take kindly to another Immortal interfering in her business and confronted the Spaniard. Alvarez doesn’t fight female Immortals but was forced to defend himself from the furious attack of the Englishwoman. However, the fight quickly became a passionate encounter between the sheets and a six-month affair that saw Rider lose the loyalty of her crew, who abandoned her. And when Alvarez moved on a mere few weeks later, Rider was hurt and angry, swearing that the Spanish Immortal would pay for toying with her feelings.

They would meet again in 1874 in the Old West when Alvarez was a US Marshall and Rider, now known as Anabelle “Belle” Roper, had a reputation throughout New Mexico and Arizona as a fearsome gunslinger. She had even re-united with her teachers, Swenja and Lootje, joining them on several bank raids. Alvarez was involved with a female rancher who Rider murdered in a fit of jealousy, forcing Alvarez to fight her again. Alvarez won, but couldn’t bring himself to take the head of a woman he’d been intimate with.
Rider would next appear in the records as a master thief, clashing with Amanda of Normandy in Asia in 1899 and then again with Alvarez in Peking, China, in 1912, harassing a mortal woman the Spaniard was involved with. Defeating her again, the Spaniard still couldn’t bring himself to kill her. She fought Amanda for a second time in the US Midwest in 1926, before a penultimate fight with Alvarez in Paris in 1958 when the Spaniard was an Interpol agent hunting Rider.

Their final confrontation came in September 1998 in Vancouver. Alvarez was at this time a detective married to a mortal woman named Stephanie. Rider was running an underground brothel, blackmailing local dignitaries and police officers, Alvarez was investigating her activities. Rider took her revenge on the Spaniard, murdering his wife to goad him. Finally, she had crossed a line and Alvarez, mad with grief, tracked her down and took her head after a brief, but ferocious, duel.
When Swenja Baatz and Lootje De Groot discovered ten years later that their student was long dead, fallen to the blade of another Immortal, they would spare no expense trying to discover the identity of her killer, but it would take nearly a decade to learn the truth.

Sorry to hear about your mum, Apollo, I hope she will be all right. Swenja and Lootje's student sound interesting, I am looking forward to read about her story and the reason why Alvarez was defeated by Swenja. I always felt a woman would be the death of Alvarez sooner or later. In a touch of irony it is one of your creations who was killed by another one of the characters you created.

Here is an adjustement to the Chronicle of Sunda Kastagir, historical research to the story of Sundiata Keita proves impossible for both men to have been the same person.

    Gardner

    Sunda Kastagir
Known aliases : Alansana Badjie, Burama Kargbo,
    Tamuka Kumbula, Atasaone Keaboka,
Roger Kibanga Tewolde; Casper (Three Magi),
    Teophilos the Indian

The Legendary Sunda Kastagir, once mistaken with Sundiata Keita, legendary founder of the Empire of Mali and a mortal hero, was not only legendary for his prowess with a sword, his ability to charm women of all ages, but for his parties. He learned his craft in the court of Cleopatra and Marc Anthony, he was one of the Nubian guards of Cleopatra. The Kushite Immortal went through drinking parties after the defeat at Antioch and kept at it until Marc Anthony and Cleopatra commited suicide. Not long after Sunda found himself in the party capital of the Ancient World -Rome. It was here that Chroniclers say that he began to work on a liquor he called Boom Boom. It was called Boom Boom because the next day that’s the only thing that you could hear was “boom boom” inside your head. But although he loved a great party, Sunda was a good and loyal friend. If you were in trouble he would drop what he was doing and rush to help.

Traditions identify a variety of different names for the three wise Magi who presented Jesus Christ and his parents with presents at the time of his birth. In the Western Christian church they have been commonly known as:

Melchior, a Persian scholar, identified as the late Melchior of Babylon. Caspar, an Ethiopian scholar, identified as Sunda Kastagir
Balthazar, an Arabian scholar, identified as Alis Ag Emoctar. Encyclopædia Britannica states that "according to Western church tradition, Balthasar is often represented as a king of Arabia, Melchior as a king of Persia, and Gaspar as a king of India." These names apparently derive from a Greek manuscript probably composed in Alexandria around 500, and which has been translated into Latin with the title Excerpta Latina Barbari. Qataban was one of the ancient Yemeni kingdoms which thrived in the Beihan valley (4th century BCE – 3rd century CE). Like the other Southern Arabian kingdoms, it gained great wealth from the trade of frankincense and myrrh incense, which were burned at altars. The capital of Qataban was named Timna and was located on the trade route which passed through the other kingdoms of Hadramaut, Saba and Ma'in; the immortal who became known as Balthazar was bon in the First Century before the birth of Christ and was mentored by Kellistra, at that time the wife of a merchant of frankincense. Nothing else is known of Kellistra's activites at that time, aside for her mentoring Balthazar who would later associate himself with Melchior of Babylon and Sunda Kastagir.

King Soumaoro Kanté is the best-known ennemy of Sundiata Keita and an immortal who lived eight hundred years of immortality before challenging Sundiata Keita's power in Mali. Born in the 4th century in Western Africa, he already was a powerful warlock before his death when he fell in a volcano according to Kastagir's tale to Sekou Nkrumah. His madness grew with the years as well as his thirst for power, known in the 13th century as a warmonger who conquered several neighboring states of the defunct Ghana Empire, including the Mandinka people in what is now Mali. At this time, Kastagir formed a coallition of kingdom to oppose his power at the Battle of Kirina in 1235. After his defeat, he fled in the mountains of Koulikoro where Kastagir found him and killed him in combat, taking his power and his sacred balafon which he kept as a memento until his death in 1985.

Been a bit distracted this week owing to my mum's health issues, Gardner. Hope to complete the chronicle I've come up with for a female Immortal with an unhealthy romantic obsession with Roman Alvarez; a student of Swenja Baatz and Lootje De Groot, she is the only female Immortal Alvarez killed. And she is the reason Alvarez would fall to Swenja's blade in 2018.

Tiresa Toleafoa was digusted by the violence of the Game, by the decapitation she was forced to witness and in awe before the power of the Quickening, the gigantic fireworks which followed the passing of the Samoan’s Quickening in the body of her Immortal friend Mondo. To her life should be more than senseless violence and killings and Immortal life more than just the Game and rules to live by. She si a free spirit and won’t have it any other way. But can she truly spend the coming 20th century alone on the Samoas and not expect another Immortal to come after her pretty head ? There will be others and the 20th century promises to become more and more violent. There are talks that the fabled Gatherign may take place one century from now. What will become of Tiresa then ? Assuming she lives to see the the final days of the Gathering.

Not one to play the Game, Felix didn't even own a sword and preferred to know death could come any time to give meaning to his immortal life. It is this fear of death that gave a sense, a purpose to his immortality, allowing him to live his passion for photography and his more unnatural taste for young girls and boys. The dirty old man certainly had a taste for prebubescent children; a taste he triggered in a former "student" of his, Gerard Kragen, who had been a shy boy when he first knew him and turned him into his lover when he was barely twelve. Gerard grew up to be a disturbed man until his First Death during a dinner held by Lester at his home in Washington.
The following century saw Felix as a photographer in San Francisco where he created a scandal by sleeping with several pensionnaries of Kristin Gilles' School for Wayward Children: Kristin's duty was to protect her young charges and this is why she came after Lester, knowing well she could never hope to enthrall a man who had a penchant for girls of early teenagehood; Lester left town in a hurry, like the coward he was, and was never seen again until Linda Flaherty took him out in San Francisco, at a time when she vas investigating a sex scandal involving young girls and a professional photographer who turned out to be Lester.

If ever there was an example of an obsessive Immortal, it would be Gaultier of Armagnac, a man so consumed by hatred for fellow Immortal Roman Alvarez, it eventually led to his inevitable demise. Instead of looking to his own inadequacies, he blamed his ill luck on the Spaniard, who had no idea why the Gascon Immortal hated him so much.
He left his student, Eufemio Arispana, in 1245, with the promise that he would one day come looking for him and together they would free Gascony from their occupiers. Gaultier would inevitably cross swords with the Knights of Charlemagne and did so while leading uprisings and civil disobedience in 1356, where he fought an inconclusive duel with Guichard of Tours in Bordeaux, and then plotting against Aquitaine again in 1399 in Toulouse, fleeing a losing battle against Baptiste Du Plat. A second clash with Guichard of Tours in Agen in 1440, where he nearly lost his head, saw Gaultier decide to seek the help of his former student. He spent twenty years looking for Eufemio, only to discover via local legend and stories that Eufemio had lost his head to a Spanish Immortal in 1452.

The already mentally unstable Gaultier raged in despair and blamed the Spaniard for ruining any chance he had of freeing Gascony from the French yoke. Driven by hatred, Gaultier of Armagnac set out on a centuries-long quest to hunt down and kill the man who had destroyed his dream of an independent Gascony. Gaultier would eventually learn the name of Arispana’s killer: Roman Alvarez and would follow his trail for nearly three centuries.

By the 17th century he had picked up Alvarez’s trail in North Africa where the Spaniard, since leaving Morocco, had taken up the life of an adventurer, drifting across the continent, seeking fortune and aiding those in need. In 1671, Gaultier caught up to Alvarez in Tripoli, but their confrontation was short when Gaultier fell off a rooftop and died in front of witnesses. In 1699, the two crossed swords again in Damascus, this time Gaultier lost his right eye to the Spaniard’s blade, but Alvarez spared his life out of pity. This would only enrage the Gascon Immortal further and when he caught up to the Spaniard again in Constantinople in 1722, their third duel would be the last. This time, Alvarez did not spare his pursuer and the Gascon’s obsession ended at the walls of Constantinople.

Sutton/Glasmore was huntign down escapees from the Botany Bay, leadign to their unnecessary deaths and was confronted by Isadora Wynther, at this time married to a British colon in Botany Bay.
Sutton decided the woman needed to be taught a lesson, but Isadora is a superb sword, one of the best swords in Western Europe and she is he one who landed Sutton on his knees. Qshe couldn’t take his head because of interfering mortals, but atlast Sutton paied for his crimes when he ordered the deaths of Punjabi mortals protesting the presence of the British Empire in India.

Rojek's last quarry was Derek Markham. I wonder what he has accomplished by taking his head. Did he enjoy his
Quickening ? I cannot help but notice that most players of the Game are either delusional, psychotic or self-righteous
champions of good vs evil (aren't you, Mister MacLeod), bent on challenging and killing immortals until only one remains; I know, it is the point of the Game, but look at it this way : of the five hundred plus immortals living on Earth presently, 88% are living AWAY from the Game : they don't take challenges, and avoid each others, or sometimes befriend each others, but the point is : they don't spend their time taking heads.

    Place: Constantinople
    Victor: Roman Alvarez
    Watcher: Habib Younis

    Background
    Original cultural affiliation: Gascon
Born: 1038, Armagnac, Duchy of Gascony
First death: 1071; Executed for plotting against
William VIII, Duke of Aquitaine, in a failed attempt
to free the Gascons from the rule of the Duchy of
    Aquitaine
First teacher: Lothar the Frank, at this time a mercenary
in service to the Duke of Aquitaine
    Known associates: None
Known past associates: Lothar the Frank, Eufemio
    Arispana
Known enemies: Roman Alvarez, Knights of Charlemagne

    First recorded sighting: 1071, Toulouse.
    Found and mentored by Lothar

If ever there was an example of an obsessive Immortal, it would be Gris of Armagnac, a man so consumed by hatred for fellow Immortal Roman Alvarez, it eventually led to his inevitable demise.
Gris would inevitably cross swords with the Knights of Charlemagne and did so while leading uprisings and civil disobedience in 1356, where he fought an inconclusive duel with Guichard of Tours in Bordeaux, and then plotting against Aquitaine again in 1399 in Toulouse, fleeing a losing battle against Baptiste Du Plat. A second clash with Guichard of Tours in Agen in 1440, where he nearly lost his head, saw Gris decide to seek the help of his former student. He spent twenty years looking for Eufemio, only to discover via local legend and stories that Eufemio had lost his head to a Spanish Immortal in 1452.

The already mentally unstable Gris raged in despair and blamed the Spaniard for ruining any chance he had of freeing Gascony from the French yoke. Driven by hatred, Gris of Armagnac set out on a centuries-long quest to hunt down and kill the man who had destroyed his dream of an independent Gascony. Gris would eventually learn the name of Arispana’s killer: Roman Alvarez and would follow his trail for nearly three centuries.

By the 17th century he had picked up Alvarez’s trail in North Africa where the Spaniard, since leaving Morocco, had taken up the life of an adventurer, drifting across the continent, seeking fortune and aiding those in need. In 1671, Gris caught up to Alvarez in Tripoli, but their confrontation was short when Gris fell off a rooftop and died in front of witnesses. In 1699, the two crossed swords again in Damascus, this time Gris lost his right eye to the Spaniard’s blade, but Alvarez spared his life out of pity. This would only enrage the Gascon Immortal further and when he caught up to the Spaniard again in Constantinople in 1722, their third duel would be the last. This time, Alvarez did not spare his pursuer and the Gascon’s obsession ended at the walls of Constantinople.

Hello Apollo, no problem there, glad you like my updates. I hope your mother is doing well.
Good job on the Immortal killed by Alvarez, Apollo. Having already establsihed a timeline for a Moroccan Immortals killed in 1269, I found an interesting background for Al Zeid since I didn't have any Moroccans born in the 11th century yet.
As for the MacDonalds.. they are part of a number of British Immortals I ditched, including three minor ones we won't miss and the infamous Sin Eaters dynasty I truly disliked, I am sorry to say. We already have way too many serial killers and the Sin Eaters reminded me of the Halloween franchise : the first movie was very good, the second one good too, but we could have done without the other sequels, if you know what I mean.

Your point about too many Immortals born in the same place... well, we have the Six of Vinland and the African clans...
Speaking of which, you may delete the Ghost Brigade Immortals who lost their use a long time ago.

    Cheers!

In 1325, Talaat Harb (Hazeem Al Bachrim) and Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah (Carter Welan) were working as bodyguards to a nobleman from the Kingdom of Castile when they met with a kingmaker from the Orient, Dalal bin Esmaeel and his bodygurd Qamar bin Rajab, both immortals working as kingmakers in service to the Kingdom of Leon. They were guests of the nobleman and revealed themselves to be political manipulators, rainsing one kingdom against another wherever they went, less for the money they got then to relive themselves of the boredom of immortality. Just to men out to enjoy themselves on the expense of the unsuspecting mortals.
When Harb and al-Jarrah's host was murdered, they suspected foul play from the two emissaries, especially since the mortal played an important role in the affairs of the Kingdom a personal advisor to the King of Spain.Feeling responsible to their host and not wanting to see war erupting between the two kingdoms, for that was the two Moors' intended goal, the Ashanti warrior and his squire challenged the two immortals and took their heads.

Jessica Larkin was always a willful woman, a ball of iron hiding behind a facade of innocence and formal clothing whose bite only showed during extreme situations. For example when she challenged her father who wanted to see her married at 16.Always the strong woman, the first to take risks, the first to challenged the rules of a society that forbade everything to women, safe being home bearing their husbands'children and cooking dinner for the family on Sundays. Ceirdwyn saw the rebel in Jessica, the same hellion she had been when she was a student of General Constantine 2000 years ago. And that's why Jessica undertook that expedition to Amazonia where I lost her trace as she was going up the Amazon river.
It's been a year since she disappeared, I pray to God that she hasn't met the wrong immortal - Kamak or Olimpia Lima, or that she hasn't met a tribe of local headhunters. I hope I (or the next generatiosn of Watchers) will see her head intact on her shoulders, and not shrunken and mummyfied in some shop of Manaus.

For all his vaunted prowess the bastard cheated again. The woman who dubbed "Jane Doe V" was a sad-faced girl with an estoc rapier who relentlessly hunted Cullen for days before he found the courage to face her. Right. Big courage he had, running her down with his car before killing her. IO guess the coke really rotted his brains. Poor girl. She didn't even have the time to pick her sword. I wonder who she was, maybe a student of an immortal Cullen killed.

    UPDATE, 18 February 2011

We took a lot of time to disclose the final fate of Jessica Larkin, but she was there all the time : ‘Jame Doe V’, an immortal woman who tried to keep tracks on Cullen and didn’t have the time to introduce herself properly before Cullen killed her.
Ceirdwyn sent her student after this important member of the immortals community, only to send her to her death.

First recorded sighting : 931, Monastery of Cluny.
Mentored by Mirabelle at this time sojourning in the
monastery and taking part in its defense from
    Viking plunderers

It is a shock to find Ingeltrude lost her head to a petty hunter like Armand of Dieulouard, after holding her own against
more imposing immortals over four centuries. When Armand challenged Ingeltrude, he threatened the lives of her
mortal husband and their seven foster children, promising Ingeltrude that he would cause no harm to her family is she
gave him her prety head. The incensed Ingeltrude whipped out her sword and came after Armand, but Armand was a
determined fighter : a woman, carrying a man's sword was blasphemy; after all it didn't fit a woman to carry a sword in
those days. Then Luc, Ingeltrude's husband, interfered, wanting to help his wife. Armand killed him and took advantage
of Ingeltrude's grief by going through her defense technique and take her head. Seven children became orphans
because of a mortal who didn't trust his wife enough to hold her own against men with swords.

Cunegonde experienced the same crisis of faith other pre-immortals born in the age of faith undergo when faced with
immortality : Lord, why hath thou forsaken me ? Mirabelle of Gascony taught Cunegonde the same lesson Pagan-
believer Ceirdwyn taught her : God has many faces and put immortals on this land for a good reason : as a balance in the
    battle of good vs evil.
the rape she endured from Viking invaders and the shock of her First Death made Cunegonde lose her faith in a
benevolent God, would would let his servant be soiled in His own home.
She forsook the nunnery, forsook God, discarded the sword Mirabelle gave to her and settled in Strasbourg as an
innskeeper, only botheirng herself with the affairs of mortals; to her, the Game didn't exist. Alas, the Game reared its
ugly head in the form of a monk prawning for prey, Damon Case, the greatest champion of God in Western Europe who
challenged her after reminding her that God was seeing all, and that he waited for his wayward servant in Heaven.

Hi again, my friend. Sorry I've been absent for a bit, had some life issues to deal with due to my mother's illness and had to get carers in. I'll try and post when i can, but i am keeping up with your postings and enjoying all your chronicles.
Kinda figured you'd drop the MacDonalds. So many Immortals from one clan was always an unlikely scenario considering the rarity of Immortal births.

First death: 1269; Capture of Marrakesh from
the Almohads by the Mannids of Morocco
    First teacher: (any ideas?)
    Known associates: None
Known past associates: Tarik ibn Ziad

First recorded sighting: 1269, Marrakesh, Morocco.

Roman Alvarez left Iberia in 1630 for North Africa and quickly came to appreciate the exotic attractions of its lands, especially the dusky women whose beauty and seductive charms he soon found irresistible. Unfortunately for the Spaniard, many of the women he came to have dalliances with had angry husbands who chased him out of town. From 1631 to 1655, he moved through the towns of Sale, Fes, Toza, Debdou, and Taroudant, before settling in Marrakesh, the new capital of Morocco, where he then set himself up as a spice merchant and began seducing several women. One of them, though, was a wife of Sultan Ahmad al Abbas, which found Alvarez stealing into the El Badi Palace for their moonlight trysts.
It was there that he encountered Immortal Masid Al-Zeid, captain of the palace guard and loyal servant of the Sultan. In fact, he had served many rulers of Morocco for 400 years, passing himself as his own descendants. Alvarez tried to avoid direct confrontation with Al-Zeid, not wanting to kill a decent man over a woman, but his continued seduction of a wife of the Sultan forced Al-Zeid’s hand, accusing Alvarez of dishonouring his master. They fought outside the city walls and Alvarez was forced to slay the Moroccan Immortal but took no joy in the Quickening. Ashamed that his own actions had led to the death of a man of honour at his own hands, Alvarez slipped quietly out of Marrakesh that night and left Morocco.

    First teacher : John Stoppard
    Known associates : Manny Diaz
Known past associates : John Stoppard
    Howard Crowley
First recorded sighting : 1781. Yorktown, VR
Found and mentored by John Stoppard

A true American, soldier Wayne Guthrie was proud of his homeland, of the way it had been born and bred in a savage and violent way. Wayne strived for the sound of battle, the exquisite pleasure of giving death at somebody elses's command. I think most of what Wayne was taught about war, he learnt from his mentor, John Stoppard, another soldier-at-heart who taught him the rules of the Game and the beauty of wars as he did with Simon Killian.
He viewed times of peace as a parenthesis between another campaign, another war. The Civil War, the Second World War, Korea, gave to his life the spark that he needed. He tried to impart his view of the world on his only student, a marine killed taking the beach at Iwo jima; but Howard Crowley wouldn't listen to his rantings. Guthrie wanted to die as a soldier, to know the cold embrace of death on a battle field, like he did upon his first death.
Today, his wish came true when an artillerie barrage from the yellow-faced black shirts destroyed most of his unit during another tour of duty, taking his head in the process and preventing him from taking another student, young private Manuel Diaz who reawakened from First Death, shortly after Guthrie died.

    Thomas Morehead

In 1607, the pre-immortal Thomas Morehead was found and adopted by a family of British colons in Virginia and kiled repelling and attack by Native Americans in 1644. His teacher was Carys ap Trevyn, a Welsh immortal woman at this time married to one of the settlers and whop taught the rules of the Game and of Immortal life, infecting him with a love for individual freedom, freedom of speech, of thoughts and of actions and for the wil to defend it, by whatever means necessary.
Of a pre-immortal colonist, she made an ardent supporter of American soil with centuries of immortality before him to defend his homeland.
Carys ap Trevyn's pre-immortal life was like a fairy tale and the old immortal woman lived her immortality as such, a bit dellusional about things, who also infected her students with her sense of wonder and the idea that immortals would change the world around them, instead of letting the world change them.
Thomas Morehead made headway in the Revolutionary effort by befriending Benjamin Franklin, helping him not only with his lighting-control experiences but also
drawing a political cartoon urging the colonies to join together during the French and Indian War in 1756. The Boston Tea Party in 1773 was a direct action by colonists in the town of Boston to protest against the taxes levied by the British government under the direct influence of Thomas Morehead in his ongoing effort to free the colonies from British rule. Parliament responded the next year with the Coercive Acts, which sparked outrage and resistance in the Thirteen Colonies. The following chain of events led to the formation of the United States of America in 1776.

However, Morehead couldn't have done this without the help of Scot immortal Connor MacLeod who helped him through his endeavour with the right contacts among politicians and colonist leaders.
In 1775, in Boston, during the battle of Breed's Hill, a militiaman by name of Dallman Ross was shot by British soldiers and met his First Death, his body recovered by Thomas Morehead who in his turn taught Ross the rules of immortal man and of the Game. Morehead imbued the ardent 'son of Freedom' with a taste for civil liberties and a sense of wonder that matched his. But Ross also was a teacher in pre-immortal life, one who wanted to give knowledge of history to generations of young Americans. The two immortals stayed tgether for the next sixteen years until Morehead's disappearance at the Siege of Yorktown in 1781.

When comparing the knowledge-driven teacher Ross became to the zealous patriot Morehead turned into, one wonder if Morehead didn't have a fatal flaw in pre-immortality that led him to become so corrupted at the core of his being : in two hundred years, Ross was a stable personality, a generound and caring soul; in two centuries, Morehead was one of the worst paranoid personalities ever recorded in immortal history.
The Siege of Yorktown or Battle of Yorktown in 1781 was a decisive victory by a combined assault of American forces led by General George Washington and French forces led by General Comte de Rochambeau over a British Army commanded by General Lord Cornwallis. It proved to be the last major battle of the American Revolutionary War, as the surrender of Cornwallis’s army (the second of the war) prompted the British government to eventually negotiate an end to the conflict.
Thomas Morehead was at the time of the siege a lieutnant under the orders of George Washington and had given the restless signs of an immortal sensing another one of his kind, having to prepare for a possible confrontation as well as having to lead his men in battle.
The only immortals recorded in 1781 in the NorthEast region were Armand de Rochefort, John Stoppard and Morehead. The latter two took part in the Siege of Yorktown. Morehead vanished during the assault by the American forces, and since no evidence of a Quickening was to be found and since his body (either in one or two pieces) disappeared without a trace, it stood to reason Morehead was still alive out there somewhere.

From the time of his First Death in 1128, Helio Trigoso has been fighting for the right of Portuguese self-determination. But while other Immortals such as the Spanish Cabal, Knights of Charlemagne and Secret Immortals Society involve themselves in the dirty business of political manipulation, assassination and murder to steer their homelands’ fates, Trigoso contented himself to be a whisperer in the shadows, using words rather than action to prompt the counts and kings of Portugal, with some success.

From 1580 to 1640, the Kingdom of Portugal and the Crown of Spain entered into the Iberian Union under the Habsburg dynasty. It also brought Trigoso into contact with Alphonse of Gijon, leader of the Spanish Cabal. This would be Trigoso’s downfall.

From the Chronicle of Helio Trigoso, Champion of Portugal

In 1628, Roman Alvarez arrived at the Portuguese court as Count Rodrigo Agosti of Malaga and began to seduce the noblewomen of the court. A suspicious Trigoso took his concerns to Alphonse who quickly identified Alvarez as his long-time enemy and convinced Trigoso he needed to be eliminated. Manipulated by Alphonse, Trigoso tried to get the drop on Alvarez, but the Spaniard was too quick for the Portuguese Immortal, who soon fell to Alvarez’s blade.

Those poor ladies deserved to have their tragic stories told, Apollo1... More good characters once forgotten... and recycled.
I restored Jesus of Nazareth by the way... from my own sense of humor and I like the Nazarean as one of the Order of Sacred Knowledge's best kept secrets and an Immortal Ishtar of Erech is in charge of protecting on behalf of the Order. Just a proof of God's own practical sense of humor... his son of divine essence.. an Immortal ! Besides; the Kurgan did say in Highlander that his sense of self-sacrifice would cause his downfall someday.

Did you like the Clan MacDonald story ? A good one.
Good job on shaping out Alvarez' past inconclusive fights.

I have now 3800 Immortals on the roster... only slightly 800 more than you have. I was afraid you had only 2500, the ones you are missing must me original characters from the Deceased roster I created before I came on the HLBB in 2009 or during the 2013-2017 hiatus.

    Cheers !

Another great chronicle with Martina Czak and her similarity to Elizabeth Bathory. Felt sorry for those poor Immortal women, they had no idea they were flies ensnared in a spider's web.

    Continuing on...

    THE CHRONICLE OF ROMAN ALVAREZ

Inconclusive fight against Alphonse of Gijon, 1584

Hunting for Roman Alvarez since he killed David Miguez in 1582, the Spanish Cabal received word that he was hiding out in Alicante in the Kingdom of Valencia. Alphonse of Gijon, leader of the Cabal, found and challenged Alvarez. At this time, Alphonse was one of the finest swordsmen in Iberia. The fight between Alphonse and Alvarez was evenly balanced but was interrupted by the city militia. Alphonse was arrested and Alvarez was able to escape and left Spain.

Inconclusive fight against Guichard of Tours, 1593

Roman Alvarez was living quietly in the city of Valletta, Malta, and romancing several women, single and married. He was relieved to away from the Game, but was unaware that the Knights of Charlemagne had been hunting him for more than a century until Guichard of Tours appeared in Valletta and challenged him. Alvarez had the upper hand in their duel until they were interrupted by witnesses, but Alvarez still chose to abandon Malta for pastures new.

Thanks for the latest chronicles, my friend, more for me to check against my own records! Lol
I haven't done a proper count yet on how many Immortals i have since i'm still sorting through my old and updated stats, but i know it's over 3000, probably not quite as many as you have though...

As for Roman Alvarez, i'm not sure yet how many kills he has, i'm kind of letting his story play out in the chronicle and waiting for inspiration to come to me. I have at least another 4 kills on the page maybe two more in my head and one i'm playing around with that i haven't got a firm fix on yet, but it'll come to me.

    THE CHRONICLE OF ROMAN ALVAREZ

    David Miguez

    Age: 204
    Known aliases: Diego Dominguez
    Notable characteristics: Sociopathic tendencies;
honed by Alfonso Bermejo to make him an
effective assassin for the Spanish Cabal
    Weapon: One-handed bastard sword

    Status
Most recent base of operations: Homebased in Madrid,
    Kingdom of Spain
Occupation: Assassin for the Spanish Cabal
    Prior occupations: Apprentice blacksmith
    Roster of Immortals Status: Deceased
    Date: 9 August 1582
    Place: Cadiz
    Victor: Roman Alvarez
    Watcher: Luis Gomez

    Background
    Original cultural affiliation: Catalan
Born: 1378, Perpignan, Kingdom of Majorca,
    Crown of Aragon
First death: 1402; Beaten to death by vigilantes
after murdering a popular girl over jealousy of a
    love rival
    First teacher: Alfonso Bermejo
    Known associates: Spanish Cabal
    Known past associates: None
    Known enemies: Secret Immortals Society

First recorded sighting: 1405, Palma, Majorca.
Found begging and stealing on the streets of Palma
by Bermejo, told of his immortality and the Game,
    recruited into the Cabal

Found and recruited by Alfonso Bermejo of the Spanish Cabal in 1405, David Miguez’s murderous tendencies were tempered and directed by Bermejo, the Cabal’s master assassin, at Spain’s enemies. Unlike the Knights of Charlemagne, who indulged the proclivities of their own assassin, Angelico Borizo, the Cabal sought to control Miguez much better, unwilling to have him draw attention to their clandestine activities. When Bermejo was killed by Raymond d’Amboise of the SIS in 1568, Miguez became the Cabal’s master assassin.

From the Chronicle of the Spanish Cabal

Roman Alvarez had spent some time in London from 1570 to 1581, where he enjoyed the company of English ladies of nobility and had a tempestuous affair with Helen Bondeville of the SIS. Alvarez was never much of a patriot and was easily persuaded by Bondeville and Richeard of Mercia to help protect Queen Elizabeth from the machinations of Catholic Spain by gathering information for them on the movements of the Spanish fleet. Alvarez, an adventurer and thrillseeker at heart, leaped at the chance to play spy and travelled to Cadiz, posing as a wealthy merchant, to watch over Spanish ship movements. But the Spanish Cabal’s own spy network warned them of a traitor passing secrets to the English from Cadiz and it took less than a year for Alvarez to be identified as a spy. With Bermejo long dead, it was David Miguez who was sent to kill Alvarez, but the wily Alvarez was too good with the blade for the less well trained Miguez; their duel among the back alleys of Cadiz ending with the assassin’s head rolling on the ground and Alvarez retreating from the city via horse and carriage with a lady friend he’d spent months sharing a bed with.

Two years in a bubble of dreams in Saigon so far, but when will she realise the predatory nature of her lover, Leung Kai-Fai ? When will he ask her to play his own little game of baiting innocent girls in search for players of the Game ? Leung heard of Axel Whittaker’s technique, having nearly been killed by the Norwegian, but this brush with death taught him a definite lesson. Society

    First recorded sighting: 1369, Nancy.
Student of Guichard of Tours, recruited into
the Knights of Charlemagne and trained as a
    master spy

44 years after Roman Alvarez fled France to avoid the bounty hunters set on him by the Knights of Charlemagne, he would once again unwittingly throw a spanner in the works of the Knights’ schemes. This time, Alvarez found himself in a rivalry for the affections of a beautiful mortal woman at the court of Charles I of Spain, with Bernatz Cazalet, Immortal spymaster for the Knights, posing as wealthy merchant Beliran Cacho, a favourite of Joanna of Castile, co-monarch of Spain.
Cazalet challenged Alvarez to a duel for the affections of Sabela Adega, but he seemed to forget an important fact: Cazalet’s identity as Beliran Cacho was as the finest swordsman in Spain to avoid such confrontations. Unfortunately, Cazalet was an average swordsman but, as he was wont to do, he buried himself in his role too much. And when it came to his duel with Alvarez, he was up against an Immortal trained by Henry of Kent and some of the finest swordmasters in Spain. It was really no contest, but the fireworks display that night of the 14 June 1542 was quite spectacular. Ironically, the Knights of Charlemagne never discovered the Immortal who killed their spy was the same one who killed their top assassin four decades earlier.

Good story Apololo, another serial kiler with connections to the Knights of Charlemagne who seemingly weren't above hiring sex-crazed psychos in their time. Good thing Hueric the Vandel dispatched them all. Find an update bio for Cantaber, btw.

Like so many like him, Cantaber is an immortal whose life has been so utterly destroyed by the Game that he became an exteme case of paranoid personalty, suffering bouts of depression and halluciantions, seeing his old opponents in the Game everywhere and figuring out his old friends as potential ennemies. Roman Alvarez and Cassandra were sorry to see him turn out like the devils he once fought, but between Alvarez stealing his girlfriend from him (or so it seemed at the time) and Cassandra manipulating him into helping him hunt Roland Kantos and the legendary Methos, he stopped beliving what they had to say to him and went so faras to challenging any immortal who would travel across Southern Iberia. On the day he challenged Ben Said-alMaghribi, he finally lost against immortal poet. Cantaber was on his knees with, for once, a relived smile on his face : what he had feared most finally happened, he was left with nothing to be afraid of.
