  • Guilty Pleasure Movie?

You know, the one where it isn`t a very good let alone great movie, the critics hated it (though I don`t put much stock in their opinions most of the time) and you know it is corny or just plain bad, but you love it anyway...

Mine is Pretty Woman, though I am sure there are others. It is corny and I love every minute of it....

The Pirate Movie. So corny, such bad jokes, but I do enjoy it. It makes me laugh every single time.

        Highlander 2?

Seriously, though, my biggest guilty pleasure movie is probably Batman & Robin. It's a dumb story with a terrible script and a bunch of ridiculous over the top cheesy action scenes, but I honestly enjoy almost every second of it, and I'm more than okay if people judge me for it,

Hell, I've even taken to saying...

Excalibur. Forged when the world was young and bird and beast and flower were one with man and death was but a dreeeeeeeam!"

Love everything about it. It's completely, wonderfully over the top. The costumes. The sets. The stilted dialogue. Some truly great actors (and some awful ones) spouting some of the corniest lines. The now-cliche soundtrack. Even the opening titles look off and dated. And yet, set in that glorious green landscape, it somehow all works.

Ok, maybe I don't feel guilty about it. We like what we like.

There should be no guilt here. That movie was awesome.

          Probably way too many.

A bunch of 80's and 90's stuff like He - Man, Con Air, Blast to the Past, Pauly Shore movies and Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead. Also snake movies I've always liked although they're dumb as dumb can get. Wolverine Origins is another. I suppose all of those are traditionally known as crap but for whatever reason I like them.

A good guilty pleasure film that I don't like people walking in on me while I'm watching would be Moulin Rouge.

Don't tell Rotten Tomatoes that. Their 33% critic score says differently.

Critic scores aren't important, its the audience scores that matter.

                  Ditto.

Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.

Honestly the audience score isn't much better.

"Down Periscope" and "Big Trouble in Little China" if I come across either one, I'll watch them to the end.

I'm a sucker for Disney Channel Original Movies. They are so bad, but more often than not I'll watch them all the way through if I end up channel surfing and one is on.

That one makes my list, too. "Chasers" with Tom Berenger is another.
