    • Clay hasn't recently lost Carter? He will win.

I think he's got this, still.

    • Even if Clay is aware of Carter's demise in this tournament (and is angry and upset because of it), Coltec isn't the one who killed him. Plus, Jim is no Mac. I expect Clay to win it, though it won't be as clean as it would have been otherwise.

      • Did they ever even say how good Jim was? He was like 1,000 or so years old wasn't he so pretty close to Clay in age and experience. And he was born into a stone age culture where taking a head must have been a real bitch. And considering who he hunted, guys who lived to fight...I don't know, I'd say he has a real shot.

The Chronicles have him as born 1150-ish. If we work with the character, though, he might be unwilling to defeat a good man. Of course, that's assuming Haresh Clay is a good man.

            • This does not look good for The Messenger. Perhaps if he has something to defend himself with, then he can get away. If he won't take Caspian's Quickening, though, he'll lose his own.
