  • Is Koto a racist portrayal?

The old timers will remember my use of Koto, my 'driver and valet' who interjects comments into my posts by supposedly hacking into my account remotely. He uses italics to separate his comments from mine. I have great fun in using him but I've started to wonder if it's racist. You think so? Do you care?

I wouldn't know. Does he speak broken English? That would probably be racist. Also, this is you and I don't know if you're serious.

It could certainly be called racist as it plays into some stereotypes and is being written by a white man. I never really thought of it that way, but I can see how it would be. Much like the old Toot & Takk show, there are a lot of things we did on the old board that would be considered quite problematic by today's standards.

I remember Koto. Never thought of his witty banter as racist. Give him the night off to go wild!
