I went to Yokohama, visited with friends, got to tour a boat. Stood in airlocks, felt my ears pop. Bought a few things. Heading home!

Relaxing at work and waiting for lunch. Had a stressful Thanksgiving but still recognized how much I have to be thankful for. No heat for two days and power is only working on one side of the house. We're renting so neither will cost us money but it's still aggravating. Had meatloaf and homemade mashed potato and gravy on Thanksgiving as it was just immediate family. Will be going to the in-laws tomorrow as we do every year and will get to spend time with the grandkids (hopefully all 4 but at least 2).

For whoever asked about my daughter's knee, it's healing well and she's able to put more weight on it. She went back to the doctor this week and they took the immobilizer off and put someone on that limits movement to certain degrees to keep her from hurting herself. It's much lighter and she can finally fully bathe as long as she keeps her leg out of the water. Still hoping the pins can come out but if not, I told her she'll be part cyborg like me which isn't so bad.

Thanksgiving dinner will consist of Golden Corral turkey gravy and dressing with potatoes and veggies cooked at home. Good compromise I think when ther is only the two of us...

I don`t think hubby was being passive agressive...he simply forgot about our conversation. If he is distracted by something else (tv, video game) when I talk with him he frequently forgets things...he wouldn`t do something I didn`t want him to do.

Yes, there was scream suppression going on. Cuss supression also.

    What kind of treatment?

Good for you for being assertive, mj. Your hubby was definitely sounding passive-agressive (doing what you didn't want behind your back), and you sounded like you were swallowing hard and not screaming- that can end up a nasty game, objections stated in a very civil mince and ignored. I remember my parents playing it when I was a kid, so maybe I was projecting

Lung test is done- I was 'not meeting minimum parameters' on the machine, she called someone and asked if she needed to do it a *third* time. Thankfully, no. So results, and hopefully treatment, in a week.

(& mom only had $15 out of $23. I let her owe me and take the pants.)

CT scan has happened, I get a lung test on Tuesday (the internal specialist who originally diagnosed the first cancer.) & I talk to the specialist on the 28th.

& mom conned me into ordering some pants she wants online. End of season stuff, 70% markdown, yadda yadda. Of course I throw in a few I want. After I hit 'Place Order' she's all 'oh my purse is in the car, I'll pay you later.' & the condo insurance is due this month. *sigh* It's just 25 bucks, and she'll pay when she gets them, now. But I was waffling on the pants I bought because they're spring pants. Crops, and the colour goes with my spring wardrobe. Now just watch, jinx wise, the doctors decide on a treatment that's mean to my gut, and thus have me wearing a smaller size come spring. (Chemo can easily be.)

& mj? If you can only stand for 20 minutes or so at a time that's a fine time to hang the on strike sign in the kitchen. That you have passive-aggressive reasons to do so on top of it is no reason to be guilted out of such a plot. (God, the time I hosted thanksgiving with an almost collapsed lung. My relatives were nice about it, and it was still a bit of a horror.)

Edited to add: Got a phone call this afternoon that there is no evidence of cancer on the CT scan. So what I'm bugging the internal specialist about is scar tissue complications.
Glad to hear it is only scar tissue, that being said is it going to cause issues?
Even though hubby was going to help with the cooking, I have cancelled TG dinner. I have so many health issues going on, I don`t think I can even go to the store to shop for the ingredients, let alone cook. Hopefully by xmas I can get some things resolved so I can be at least half normal...If it is only hbby and I for TG things can be simplified and scaled back.
Are my reasons passive agressive? I just don`t want to go through the chaos of another of his relationships again. Andria (former gf) meant and means the world to me. He treated her like crap. I don`t see him changing and don`t want to see his life implode again. I love him, but he has issues that would make your head spin.

I love your outlook Warrior. "Water on the lung" as an excuse to rein in your mother is the best example of lemons to lemonade I ever heard.

~mj~, can't you still have a friendship with Ms. X? It'd be good for both of you.

So, Kat, are your Christmas decorations up yet? I'm hardly decorating at all. We go to Pennsylvania to visit my M-I-Law every year and end up decorating for her while our own decorations sit at home unappreciated. Bah humbug.

    How's the baby knee, Hap?

I was in LA for Pina's sinus and nose surgery. It was badly done several years ago after being broken by a car door and my girl has had one infection after another ever since. Turns out that in addition to just getting a crap repair job, Pina's poor sinuses had a cyst in each. One was as big as a small plum. One night while she was convalescing, I heard a funny noise and discovered that it was a nose whistle! Pina was breathing through both nostrils! I was so excited it was all I could do not to wake her up!

Since I've been back, I've been out horse riding a couple of times. Of the horse in question, the owner said, "He really likes you." I said, "I'm glad; it was hard to tell since he keeps pretending he's going to bite me." "Oh, um... I wouldn't assume he's pretending..."

I am fretting over Thanksgiving. Husband decided to invite son and new gf without asking me...actually, I had already decided not to ask them. Long story short, he and gf broke up, I was really fond of her, she moved away. It was a bad break up, and I am not ready to welcome new gf with open arms. Former gf has 2 lovely kids that I treated as grandchildren, and treated former gf like a daughter. Call me selfish, but I am not going down that road again. Hubby and I had already talked about it...he knew I didn`t want to invite them. We love our son, but have been having issues with him also. Any way, I can`t cook worth beans, and have been sick for a month. I can`t stand on my feet for more than 15-30 mins at a time, and I am freaking out over Thanksgiving dinner...

When I got my flu shot on Friday there was a pamphlet you read before hand. Part of it:

These common reactions are generally mild to moderate and may last 1-4 days

Soreness, warmth, redness and swelling at the injection site and/or limited movement of the immunized arm or leg.
Headache, muscle aches, fever, chills, fatigue, joint pain, irritability, sweating and/or loss of appetite.

Sunday evening after a hot soak in the bath I had an intense backache. Stiff as a board. Absolutely no reason to have a sore back. (A nice long hot soak should relax muscles, no?) Rereading those two lines I blame my flu shot.

Right now? I should take the garbage out. But my back is still mildly aching and there's a fresh layer of snow on the ground.

Yes, "once upon a time" this was a busy place--especially on holidays. Hope all your decorations turned out great and that you had lots of Trick-or-Treaters. We're living out in the countryside these days so we're blissfully free of goblins.

Think they've got that figured out? Down to the cents?

Me, I'm doing my usual procrastinating and taking a "break" from paying last minute bills. I do sorta have an excuse. Hubby had shoulder surgery 6 days ago and I've been waiting on him (more than the usual) since his arm is in a sling and will be for 6 more weeks. Arrgghh. Not fun for either of us.

What I did today? Medical appointment, booked for a CT scan, got my flu shot, grabbed groceries. Silly thing about the groceries- my points card gives me extra points if my bill totals over a certain amount. I missed it by two cents. Taxes (on snacks, but not regular groceries) apparently don't count. & I even grabbed a few chocolate bars to put it over the amount. Fell for their marketing strategy, and two cents short.

I finally got a (minor) promotion at work. I'll now be one of the chief peons, or as they call it CSR-2. I'm still paid hourly and still on the phones but now I'll be allowed to be more independent and can officially help out less experienced agents when they have questions. It also comes with a pay raise which is nice. I've been working on this for over a year now so I'm kinda giddy..in a manly way of course.

Last weekend (Sunday) the hubby & I got ... half... the lights up. The ones with the little skulls, pumpkins, ghosts, and scary/eye balls. We cleaned off the porch & got some of the branches up for an arc. Hubby trimmed the branches down a little too far so I've trimmed 3 "trees" this week. Ok, more like a few hours over 2 days. The rest of "The Plan" this weekend, starting... well, today - I should be out raking the leaves for the Big Pumpkin. Saturday lash down the 3 "trees" *wink, wink*, put up/out the spider webbing, spiders, ravens, skulls, skeletons, pumpkins, ghosts. Maybe I'll come back and bore you with a picture or 2 later.
