OK, here's something that's always bothered by the series (other than how tame it is when compared to the movies). The first episode of season 2 (the Watchers) claim that the original film takes place before the series and that it wasn't the Gathering. This doesn't work for a multitude of reasons (and not because they spelled everyone's names wrong):
1: There were lines of dialogue saying that it was the Gathering (e.g. only you and I remain), and because of logic (if it wasn't the Gathering, then why were there multiple immortals in the same city at the same time?)
2: The Immortal's injury status doesn't match up. In the film, an Immortal could get 'killed' and get up almost instantly (e.g. the Kurgan gets shot by a full clip of a UZI and gets up almost instantly), while the in series, the immortals stay unconscious for a few hours after being 'killed',
3: In the film, the quickening was a bright light (except the final quickening at the end). While in the series, the quickening's were lighting.
4: In the film, the immortals could stay underwater for as long as possible without consequences. In the series, the immortal's couldn't stay underwater (for some reason that was never explained).
If someone could think of an explanation to reconcile the differences, let me know.
