Brillant research work, Apollo. Good writing too. About the future Immortals you create as kills of the Club's members, can I advise them as being also born out of England : Wales, Scotland, Irerland and other parts of Western and Northern Europe ? Even Scandinavia.
I suppose the Hellfire Club dipped its collective feet in other parts of the British Empire, so that would mean kills In British Kenya, India, North America, etc..

While Aldrich Monk and Evangeline Black spent more than a century in hiding on the Isle of Iona off the west coast of Scotland, Sampson Brass, still known at this time as Saegar Lightfingers, opted to keep a low profile in Scotland for a few decades scratching a living as a con-artist. By 1143 he had made his way south to the town of Colchester where he soon ingratiated himself into the criminal underworld running a successful black market goods operation. Not long after, he came to the attention of two local Immortals, Ealdred of Ashurst, leader of the North End Boys gang, and his student and second-in-command Fawkes de Savage. Ealdred wanted Brass to pay protection to his gang, but Brass was not one to take threats like that seriously, especially from someone he considered a two bit crook. Instead, he offered his services as an enforcer, proving his worth by beating Ealdred's mortal gang members to a pulp. Ealdred accepted Brass' offer and unknowingly signed his own death warrant. By the end of the year Brass had worked his way up the ranks and on one dark night, he got Ealdred blind drunk in a tavern, lured him outside into an alley and decapitated him before he could draw his sword. By the next day, Brass had seized control of the gang, much to the ire of Fawkes de Savage, who nevertheless grudgingly accepted Brass' authority.

When Sampson Brass took out Ealdred of Ashurst in 1143 and took over the North End Boys in Colchester, Fawkes submitted somewhat grudgingly to the older Immortal's authority, but all the while he was plotting revenge. It took him seven years until he finally had enough support to mount a challenge, but Brass, unlike Aldrich Monk, is not a man of subtlety. Furious at the betrayal, but not unsurprised, he savagely attacked Fawkes, his anger fuelling his sword arm, and he quickly overwhelmed him, driving him to his knees. When he took his head, the resulting Quickening quickly cowed the rest of Fawkes' followers, although Brass still took his revenge, murdering all of them

When she reached 18, he stabbed her in the heart to trigger her immortality and she soon became his right-hand woman and most trusted adviser. The duo then quickly expanded their influence across Colchester and took control of organised crime in the town.

By 1161, the Lightfingers gang ruled the streets of Colchester, led by Sampson Brass and his student Heloise Mallory, aka Honoria Dedlock. They were rich and powerful, but power provokes envy and a group of criminals who had fled the town because of the Lightfingers sought revenge and hired a notorious enforcer to take out Brass and Mallory. Athalwolf was a brute of a man, a German giant who had forged his reputation over 250 years on the continent as an unstoppable bull in a china shop. Not too bright, his fearsome reputation was often enough to send his opponents running for the hills. But Sampson Brass does not scare easy and set a trap for the German Immortal, luring him into a cauldron of arrows, knives and spears within the narrow streets of Colchester. Most of the Lightfingers gang were slaughtered by Athalwolf, but by the time he reached Brass and Mallory, he was already staggering under multiple wounds. Heloise stabbed the weakened German in the back and Brass delivered the coup de grace, savouring the Quickening. With the Lightfingers all but annihilated, Sampson Brass and Honoria Dedlock left Colchester for their next venture.

Livio Broccolino has been looking for his teacher, Belva Silvestri, with scores to settle with the woman who broke his heart centuries ago after she sent him on his way, his training complete. Some Immortals carry long grudges and Livio isn’t one to forget and forgive. That auto accident nealry cost him his life during the competitive race of 2002, I guess that taught him a lesson because he is even more cautious in racing than he is in the Game. Little does he know Belva died in 1961 against a child Immortal by name of Mayra Alejandra, thus mking of Livio’s grudge a needless one. What he doesn’t know keeps on hurting him, truly a shame.

Frank Bascombe,relatively new to the Game but already a savy swordfighter and collector of heads. His M.O is to settle in a place known for its population of immortals, take his time, settle in a mortal activity and then start counting the immortals living in the city. When he's done counting, Bascombe starts hunting for non-white immortals. He cheats : he compensates his poor swordfighting skills with stun gun, tear gaz, pouch of powder, anything; and when his quarry is weakened, he goes for the kill. Each decade sees a city depopulated from non-caucasian immortals : Southern Africa in the 1900's, Western Africa in the 1910's, North Africa in the 1920's and so on.

From each immortal he killed, Bascombe took a souvenir : an Inca gold mak from Diego Cristobal, a short sword from Muhammad of Algiers, a spear from Colette Ougounbo. Because he was raised in Boer culture where white people held rascist views toward black and other-colored people, Bascombe makes a point on targeting only non-caucasian immortals : Black, Chinese, Italian, Slavic, Jewish etc.. All fall to his sword, because the bastard believes in eithnic cleansing among the immortals. His homes of Aspen, Johannesburg and Seattle are full of the mementos he picked from his quarries and bear testimony to the many cultures that white men eradicated from the surface of the earth for the past centuries.

Frank was a disciple of Thomas Morehead at about the same time as Oskar Felder but never joined with the Combined Immortals of America, choosing other pursuits, as co-founder of the Ku Klux Klazn and the White Knights of America, a squadron of Immortlas even more rabis and dangerous then the CIA and who the CIA had to take out themselves, which goes to show there can be more extreme Immortals in America then even Thomas Morehead's group.

Bozidara of Bohemia is the woman (or man) who taught the fine arts of cooking to Hugh Fitzcairn as well as proper manners in bed, a difficult task to a Medieval immortal of the 12th century, but she was a success in both ventures. To think Fitz the womanizer received his first lessons from a transvestite Immortal !
Bohemian kitchen is famous for taking cheap ingredients and, by way of hard work, turning ithem into something very presentable. Hugh Fitzcairn was a crass, uneducated Englishmen, she tunred him into a very presentable Immortal too.
Few rookies at Watcher Academy belived it when first studying the chronicel of Bozidara but this is a fine woman who made it to the top in eight hundred years of immortality, having to hide her nature but still iving happiliy, bedding men and women alike, playing the Game and taking heads if she couldn’t give any.
I wasn’t the first Watcher assigned to her who became enamoured with the Bohemian (such charisma !) and it was all I could not ot interfere when George Chapman the transvestite-hunter came into town and seduced Bozidara. Bozidara was no fool, many came after her pretty head, but her weakness laid in sexual matters, like the gypsy moth lured to the flame. She never woke up from the night she spent with Chapman. Her favorite cookbook with those wonderful bohemian recipes is now in the office of the US Southeast Watcher Bureau. We miss her greatly.

We do believe the reckoning will come to him in the shape of the Immortals whose first deaths were triggered by the maiming and senseless butchery triggered by his guns. In 1769 Terence of Coventry met Immortal Rewi Te Huia, a New Zealand native who, though living away from usual commercial routes, was aware of the existence of other Immortals and kept a strong arm, a sharp eye and an even sharper spear. Terence didn’t dare challenge the woman in the Game but challenge her in bed and was quite apt at convincing the little hellion that not all Western Immortals are bad fellows. In 1835 she had embraced pacifism, and may have longed for the return of the charming Englishman who stole her heart from her with her virginity.

In 1980 Darius met Rossa Nuia of the Kerepuni in New Guinea and when interrogated she answered that among the 10,000 skulls he found on her island more than one belonged to Western or Asian Immortals who came after her and thought the old woman to be an easy mark. They tasted good too. Darius flinched but wasn’t surprised : on these parts of the world the natives can sometimes break some essential taboos of the civilized world. She never truly forgave Hippolito Cabral for bringing with him the terrible disease which nearly destroyed her people and still has scores to settle with him. Meanwhile, she has her pot, good meat, herbs and an empty stomach to feed. And an unquenchable hunger for more good Quickenings. Darius left her in haste and never visited the old woman again.

Meanwhile, here is the last instalment of the first era of the rivalry between Richeard of Mercia and Aldrich Monk:

1065 - As part of Richeard's long-term strategy, he sends Alfgar in secret to England. He stirs up rebellion in Northumbria and on 3rd October, the Northumbrian rebels capture York, outlaw Harold's brother, Tostig Godwinson, and choose Morcar of Northumbria as their new earl.

1066 - 5 Jan. King Edward the Confessor dies.

6 Jan. Harold Godwinson is chosen by the Witenagemot to be king over Edward's nephew Edgar the Aetheling, who is aged 15, betraying his oath to William of Normandy.

Alfgar returns to Normandy, meeting up with Richeard and informing him of Edward's crowning, which Richeard anticipated.

Elfrida and Ailef reconcile their differences in London in anticipation of Richeard's obvious next move.

20 Sept. Battle of Fulford: Harald III of Norway, accompanied by Tostig Godwinson, invades England and defeats the English forces led by Morcar of Northumbria and Edwin, Earl of Mercia, in Yorkshire.

25 Sept. Battle of Stamford Bridge: Ailef and Saegar fight with King Harold as he defeats and kills Harald III of Norway and Tostig. Elfrida remains in London in anticipation of Richeard's return.

28 Sept. William, Duke of Normandy, lands an invasion force near Pevensey. Richeard of Mercia and Alfgar of Winchester return to England after years in exile.

14 Oct. Battle of Hastings: William defeats and kills Harold. Richeard fights Ailef, while Alfgar battles Elfrida. Saegar remained in London. Richeard and Alfgar win their respective duels, but in the heat of battle, Ailef and Elfrida are able to flee the field. They join up with Saegar in London and then retreat north. Eadwulf, a Saxon in Harold's army, dies his first death and is found by Richeard and Alfgar, who mentor him and convert him to their cause.

Fearful of Richeard's wrath and with no political cards to play, Ailef and Elfrida remove themselves from the board. They exile themselves to Iona Abbey off the west coast of Scotland, posing as clergy. Ailef changes his name to Aldrich the Monk (Aldrich Monk will become his better known name), Elfrida becomes Abbess Elfrida of York, but will re-emerge as the infamous Evangeline Black. They will spend the next 100 years there in scholarly pursuits, planning their next move, but politics will become something Aldrich and Evangeline choose to avoid in future, instead money and their own personal power will become their goal.

Saegar does not join them, not keen on spending a century in abstinence. Instead, he hides out in Scotland for two decades until the heat dies down.

25 Dec. Richeard, Alfgar and Eadwulf attend the coronation of William I of England in Westminster Abbey.

Next time, we jump forward about 100 years and the first embers of what will become the Hellfire Club are sparked into life...

Watcher Research once mistook Theodore Zeleke for Sunda Kastagir but those are two different men with similar background and same incentive to free their people from opressive colonial rule. Kastagir is Malian, Zeleke is Ethiopian and has been confirmed as born in the 13th century while Kastagir was born in pre-Christ era in the Kingdom of Axum; both men share the same taste for foreign cultures, the same sense of adventuring, the same taste for gorgeous negro women and a knack at surviving the Game for centuries.
In 1867 Zeleke got in conflict against the Secret Immortal Services but Richeard of Mercia didn’t want the amiable Immortal’s Quickenign and turned the blind eye on his activities as resistance leader, letting him escape from the British colonial army with his men. Had it been Simon Killian or Steven Keane stationedin Ethiopia at this time, there is no doubt Zeleke would have been mercilessly slaughtered by a British saber.

Lifes does move in circles. Recent research in East African chronicles uncovered the occurrence of Iman Fasil stationed with the Ottomans in Eritrea where he tracked down and killed the leader of a resistance movement opposing Ottoman presence in Eritrea. The man Fasil killed was Tesmi Idris, an Immortal recorded as having been the mentor of Immortal Zerai Deres and a former disciple of Kashta of Nubia. Both men fought like lions, the fight ending with Idris’ death.
In 1937 Iman Fasil fought and killed Zerai Deres, at that ime a political lobbyist opposing the rise of fascism in Italy.
When Fasil took Deres Quickening, did he see the presence of Idris through Deres' memories ? Did he even care ?

In five hundred years of Immortality Eike Koubel has conciliated Immortal warfare (i.e the Game) and motherhood by raising entire crops of children on Holy Grounds, on the four corners of Hungary and beyong, no letting There Can Be Only One robbing her from the joys of motherhood and she chose carefully which men she would marry, disclose her secrets to and with whom adopting her own children. All of them were found in one village or another and there have been some among them who turned out Immortals themselves upon reaching adulthood or even earlier. Eike transmitted them values of courage, honesty, bravura and the love of their homeland and Magyar culture while teaching them to stand their grounds when the Magyar land was invaded, as she did in the 13th century when she faced Kane and a horde of Mongol plunderers. Kane was surprised to face a Magyar woman with a sword and he met defeat with cowardice running for his life, in fear of the savage witch ready to kill before allowing herself or one of her daughters to be raped or enslaved. Same thing with Bukarev in 1437 who had a hearty laugh when defeated and reconciled with his compatriot over mead and bread. Eike was last seen in 1437 but we had an inkling she lived a long an fruitful life, fostering her children and sometimes playing the Game to protect her clan.

Kian Zahed knew he was little more than an indentured servant of Melik Tanju but he knew little else than fighting for the Ottomans, was barely litterate and had only the Quran to guide him though his Immortal life.
With mentors such as Melik and Jamal Labouni he didn’t have much a chance of getting out of his Muslim life free and happy. Sure he longed to be reunited with his Irish roots but the life he had was better than no life at all, and so by not choosing to leave the Ottoman Empire he chose to stay and fight until the bitter end. Then he met Tudor Filipescu at the Siege of Vienna and for the first time was confronted with an Immortal willing to take his head in the name of the Game, an Immortal so intense in his behavior, who emitted such darkness that he got the scare of his life and his Watcher saw him running in fear, litterally.
He got lost during the siege, we are not too sure of his final fate. Was he found and killed by Filipescu, or punished by Melik Tanju for cowardice, we do not know. Or maybe he found a way to Ireland where he found some happiness for a time, however unlikely that may look.

1062 - Harold Godwinson, Earl of Wessex, launches an invasion of Wales, with his secret lover Elfrida of York, the infamous Evangeline Black, at his side, along with her latest band of Valkyries, a mix of Saxon and Viking orphans she personally trained. They raid Rhuddlan.

1063 - Harold captures Gwynedd. Elfrida bribes the soldiers of the Welsh prince Gruffydd ap Llywelyn, who murder him. The English receive tribute from northern Wales, although the south remains independent.

1064 - On the advice of Elfrida, Harold Godwinson marries Ealdgyth, daughter of Aelfgar, Earl of Mercia, and widow of Welsh ruler Gruffydd ap Llywelyn. She is satisfied to continue her affair with Harold in secret.

Harold is then shipwrecked at Ponthieu, Normandy, and captured by Guy I, Count of Ponthieu. He is taken as a hostage to the count's castle at Beaugrain. Duke William arrives soon after with Richeard of Mercia and Alfgar of Winchester at his side and orders Guy to turn Harold over to him. Seizing an opportunity to set his long-term plan in motion, Richeard convinces Harold to accompany William into battle against the Duke's enemy, Conan II, Duke of Brittany.

When word reaches Elfrida that Harold has fallen into the clutches of Richeard and Alfgar, she rides to London to warn Deira, aka Aldrich Monk, despite their continued animosity. Certain that Richeard must be plotting revenge, Deira sends Saegar to Normandy with a small band of hand-picked warriors to rescue Harold. But Richeard had anticipated Deira's move and Alfgar and a company of Norman knights ambushed Saegar as he came ashore near Le Havre. Saegar's men were slaughtered by the Normans, while Saegar was no match for Alfgar and barely escaped with his head on his shoulders, stealing a horse and galloping to safety. He spent two weeks evading Alfgar's search parties before escaping on a ship at Cherbourg back to England.

Gavin Cummings holds on his cuddlebear the same way an old Immortal clutches to his beloved sword, his sole friend in existence. The Secret Immortals Services warned him of adult Immortals coming after his head. The already frightened, abused child saw his confidence in the adult world nearly destroyed and it took two years for Doctor Sean Burns to give him a bit of self-confidence and faith in humanity so he didn't turn as bad as Kenneth.
Carolyn Mortimer, Sean Burns’ disciple, gave him therapy, the London Immortals taught him to use speed, reflexes and to use his brain in the Game before sending him for a few years in peace on the island of Jersay (a dependancy of the British crown) to be bodyguarded by Thalia. Thalia is a professional nanny and bodyguard, she has been securing children from wealthy socialites for two thoussands years and she could never foster a child of her own, between her duty and the Game. She married several times, fostered the natural children of the men she married but she could never bear one of her own. With Gavin she found a son. Gavin wants to be left alone, to never have to face another Immortal like the one who molested him and Thalia has her needs.
Sean Burns asked Gavin if he would sacrifice his freedom over his safety. Gavin said he would do everything to never get hurt again. This is a victim of kidnapping, raised from early infancy by a pedophile who secluded him for the world in an environment where he thought he was safe until the day the bastard started abusing him. The abuse lasted five years before he was freed. The two immortals have engaged into a mutually satisfying relationship but one where they live in a shelter, safe from the world, from the Gathering.

Thalia was sold by her family into slavery when she was ten years old to pay off her father’s debts. She was lucky enough or unlucky enough to land in the household of Pontius Sulla. There she found the love and affection that had been so lacking in her own family amongst the other household slaves. And she and Pontilla, Sulla’s daughter, became close friends. It was here that Thalia thought to end her days caring for Sulla’s household. But fate and Roman politics changed all that, when Sulla opposed Marius and Cinna for control of Rome. Not only was Sulla killed but the whole family as well as all the slaves were brutally slaughtered by Marius’s men. Thalia awoke surrounded by corpses, before being spirited off by Titus Marconus to his country house. There she trained and took care of Titus’s household until his death in 74 BC. Upon his death Titus left some money to Thalia and she left <insert name> to go to Athens where she married a wealthy widower and took care of his five children. Her current position as Housekeeper to the Eldington family is eerily reminiscent of her early years. Lord Eldington has a seat in the House of Lords and she is Lady Eldington’s close confidante and advisor. She is firm but affectionate with the three Eldington children and she is fiercely protective of the entire family and will tolerate no threat to the family.

One of the survivors of the Trojan War and a disciple of Methos himself according to Bronze Age era chronicles, not much is known about the Rhapsode other than an epic tale in the shape of a long poem telling the story of the Trojan War as a tall tale, not unlike Homer’s novel. Though Homer never mentioned the presence of Immortals other than Achilles the invicible hero. Tithonus wrote his epic describing and confirming the presence of Immortals alongside Odyseeus and Achilles and how he was himself mentored by an ancien hero who rode out to the sun with a band of thieves and cutthroats I have no fear identifying as the legendary Four Horsemen, however apocryphal their existence may be. Methos is an urban legend, so are his former companions. In 292 BC, Tithonus expected a visit from Methos and his new disciple, Katherine of Samaothrace but the Immortal who visited him first wasn’t in the mood for a social call.
In retrospect, could Tithonus’ killer have been a companion of Methos looking for his long-lost brother in arms ?

Looking at Ann's number of kills over the six centuries of her immortal life, one might wonder about the number of battles she fought between 1419 and 1658, compared to the few heads she took since the 17° Century. "Grace Chandel" wasn't alway the peaceful healer she has been in her pre-immortal life and for the last four centuries. After having been so violently put to death by her fellow villagers in 1402, Ann underwent a sort of epiphany and came to the realisation that maybe she was wrong to keep being such a benevolent woman in such a dark, opressing and violent world. Her mentor, Charles of Strasbourg, did nothing to put her back to her past ways as he taught her of how vicious, unforgiving and cold the mortal world was; this being nothing compared to the dog-eat-dog world of the Game.
Faced to the reality of her immortality, Ann knew she had no choice other than be a fearsome player of the Game, a ruthless opponent to all those who would take her head. And so a healer was gone, replaced with a cunning mercenary woman, squiring Charles of Strasbourg as well as servicing him in bed. then one day, after two centuries of surviving the Game and painting several parts of Europe with the blood of immortal and mortal men, Ann met Darius the immortal monk in Paris. Darius sensed the darkness in the immortal woman, but also sensed the good that still was part of her and resolved to get her out of her "dark age". The cynical Ann didn't listen to Darius at first but then he asked for her help when his servant went into a complicated labor, needing the aid of a midwife.
Ann was a mercenary, but she hadn't forgotten her medical science, and thus a beautiful baby was born in Paris, the 17th of October 1658. With the child's birth and conversations with Darius, Ann the midwife was re-born. She laid down her sword and took back the mantle of a doctor.

The mysterious figure called Nanny of the Maroons was once thought to be a past identity of Marie Laveau, a well-known figure of New Orelans’s immortal scene, but she was confirmed as her own person by Doctor Benjamin Adams in Switzerland, during his wild party with Lord Byron in 1816. So a proper chronicle was patched up for her, and after extensive research who could link her to her encounter with Captain Jacques Montpeller and to her playing hide n’seek with immortal Luther in Jamaica, during the anti-British riots of 1884. If Luther hunted her, it is possible she possessed a fragemtn of the legendary Stone of Methuselah, and was thus a past disciple of Xanthia of Melitus, we are not sure, this is a working hypothesis. Nanny has been missing since 1884, she in likelihood still lives on the island, unless she followed the Jamaicandiaspora is is living somewhere in Central America, or in the US territory.

Reporting on the activities of my predecesssor Eugene Carter, Carl Robinson’s Watcher, who was found to have attempted to murder his assignment, on behalf of James Horton’s ’clean-up squad’. Carter was n agent of Horton and was sent after the immortals of Seattle, WA. There is no doubt he intended to take on Jackson Trent and Oshawn Pepper, but he chose Carl first. Carl killed the cop in legitimate
defense and was forced to leave Seattle in a hurry, not taking the time to investigate Carter’s tattoo on the man’s wrist. Good for us. Or we would have faced another vengeful immortal bent on killing Watchers !

After his First Death, Derek Worth found his calling in life, to serve God on Earth and do his bidding until the time of the Gathering, when the last Immortal standing will receive the Prize. Fortunately this isn’t a Game-aggressive Immortal like Damon Case : Worth knows how to enjoy the simple joys in life and consider the idea of taking the head of a fellow Immortal to be a sin : why destroy the work of God ? Immortals are like any creature on Earth, made by God and killing each other is not only a great injustice, it is also the profanation of God’s work on Earth. He has an interesting reasoning, he is a Christian at heart, but his views of Immortality aren’t truly realistic and I do hope his faith won’t be put to the test in a too harsh fashion by the next Immortal prawning for prey. After all, Derek Worth could be the next Darius, assuming he lives to be 2,000 years old.

Alvarez loves women. He adores them. He can't get enough of them. Blondes, brunettes, redheads; white, black, brown, oriental. All kinds. And they adore him. His silvery tongue has seduced many a high-born or low-born female into his bed (or theirs!). But he is no rat; far from it. He lavishes them with gifts and affection and treats them like precious jewels, even after he's broken up with them! In fact, he claims he never breaks up with a woman, "they are always in my heart."
And the women don't seem to complain, in fact, after seven centuries his skills in the bedroom seem to keep the women happy and as long as he "indulges" their needs, they appear to be satisfied. I wish we mere mortals were so lucky...!
But don't let his lotherio reputation fool you, for Alvarez is one of Henry of Kent's celebrated students. He will not tolerate violence of any kind against the women he adores so much, and rapists he loathes so much that he has been known to castrate them and leave them to bleed to death!
Roman Alvarez has even notched up an impressive list of female Immortals who have sampled his wares, with no complaint from any of them! Frances Drummond, Lang Quing, Alex Raven, Kyra and Amanda have all "banged the headboard" with Roman the Romeo.
But to concentrate on his obsession with females would be to do him a disservice, for he is a superb swordsman (as all proteges of Henry of Kent are) and a moral man, spending most of his life determined to bring law and order to the mortal world and killing the occasional headhunter who happens to offer a challenge.

Swenja Baatz and Lootje De Groot are the female version of Lymon Kurlow and Peter Matlin, two women, not lovers, just companions sticking together throughout their immortality, but like Matlin and Kurlow, living on the wrong side of the law. Adenaline junkies, they live for what they can get away with. Their philosophy is: want, take, have; they take what they want and if anyone gets in their way, they kill them. To them, mortals are playthings; they use mortal men for sexual gratification and toss them aside when they are done, and avoid Immortal men whenever they can, killing those who interfere.
Highwaywomen in England from 1742 to 1750, they were next seen as pirates in the Caribbean in 1766, encountered Sarah McLaughlin in 1768, and vanished when their ship was sunk by a British frigate in 1774. They became infamous female outlaws in the Old West as "Cat" Coolidge and "Sweet Lucy" Lawson from 1879 to 1888, where they were renowned for their stunning looks and quick guns, robbing stage coaches and the odd bank, coming onto the radar of Immortal US Marshalls Charles Mako and Matthew of Salisbury, but those two had bigger fish to fry in chasing down the murderous Theodo of Lombardy's quartet, so the duo of deadly women found themselves dodging the odd posse and mortal Marshall.

Ten years after their encounter with Amanda and Xanthia of Melitus that nearly ended with their death in 1635 - a harsh lesson for Swenja and Lootje - the two immortals belles found themselves in Bologna where they lived as socialites, seducing their way through the good society of Renaissance Italy. They were in their 'lying low' period, taking it easy, making some money after having married two rich men they had seduced out of their wits, causing an uproar as they were two foreign girls who barely cared about local customs.
Those were scandalous woman indeed, who behaved as men - harsh talks, foxhunting, dressing in masculine clothes - and were womanizing scoundrels, quick-witted and prone to duelling with any who got in their way.
Swenja's husband had three sons from a previous marriage : Antonio, Sebastian and Luigi. Antonio was cruel and wily, feared for his prowesses with the sword and his outmatched physical strenght. Sebastian was effeminate with also a cruel disposition and a penchant for beating his horse and whipping his dogs - all three beautiful beasts who deserved a better master.
And there was Luigi the brave who had respect for human life, appreciated for his kindness and wisdom. All three were out of their teens, almost men, and were Swenja's sons-in-law.
Lootje's husband was childless for he was a closet gay and never could honor any woman, let alone his ex-wife. Still he married Lootje who took pleasure in sharing her bed with a bisexual.
One day, Antonio tried to assault his mother in law, which she clearly didn't appreciate and landed him on his feet, giving to him the kicking of his life.
When Sebastian intervened, Swenja whipped out her knife and lacerated his face, leaving him with a permanent scar. The affair stayed hidden from their father, pretending everything was alright and that Sebastian had been in a nasty brawl with a male rival.
But both men plotted their revenge, while Swenja and Lootje pondered on the closing days when they would have to leave their husbands; they grew old while they stayed young which soon became the talk of Bologna. And in a city like Bologna, when rumors of neveraging women runs rampant, can immortal trouble be far behind ?
There was also the matter of Lootje's affair with brave Lugi, way out of his depth with the immortal woman, who had her kicks in teaching him pleasure beyond his his imagination and fell madly in love with Lootje, to the extant of picking fights with any man who would only so much speak to her.
Antonio and his brother finally took revenge on Swenja and Lootje by having them poisoned with tea. The two women died in front of witnesses during an ill-timed tea party and woke up in the family's vault. They knew they had to leave, with only so much a horse and whatever clothes they had on the back. Understandably pissed off, they went to their sons-in-law home, posing as revengeful spirits, only to find out Luigi had murdered them both in revenge for the death of Lootje and had killed himself, unable to bear life without his paramour.
Lootje and Swenja robbed the house, taking whatever valuables and money they could, scaring the servants and doing quite a fracas. Then they left.

Quani Colotl has been conclusively identified as a past disciple of Drake Kolari, a pirate captain scourging the seven seas during the 17th century, himself identified as the psychopathic, world-conquering Kronos, former leader of the Bronze Age Four Horsemen. In 1670 Kronos went into an exploration party in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, in search for the elsuvie Methos, rumored to have spent a few decades in Mesoamerica and found the Immortal posing as a demi-God naming himself Quani Colotl. Colotl reigned over an empire extending over the centerpoint of Mexico and had an habit or sacrificing virgins to the feathered-god Quetzcoatl, something he had been doing since at least the 13th century. Quani Coatl wasn’t aware there were others of his kind until the days of Spanish conquest of Mexico, and faced others of his kind, possibly among them Ottavio Consone.
Kronos found a soul brother in Colotl and helped him expand his horizons beyond Mexico, explaining the traces of Quani's cults all over Latin America, going so far as establishing a mission in South Florida were two hundred people comitted a mass suicide on his behalf, mirrorring the horrors of Jim Jones' cult.
Quani Colotl is active again in Mexico, and left a trail of decapitated bodies all across Latin America for centuries, playing the Game in his own twisted fashion : all his victims are sacrificed to his God before beign beheaded. Quani hopes to become "the one", although we do hope mankind doesn't become enthralled by a half-mad servant of Quetzacoatl.

Captain Drake Kolari has been known as a savage leader of men, cruel and cunning, brutish, lacking however the psychological skills needed to plan efficent raids and aften met defeat by the swords of swahbucker such as Captain Valicourt, the Bloody Baron of the Carribean or Sarah MacLaughlin, a student of Amanda who became the most infamous pierate chieftain in history along with Ann Bonny and Mary Read. Kolari was a cruel man with a long, flowing mane and a distinctive scar marring his face. He led a band of killers in his raid on merchant ships and coastal cities but none had the qualities he sought in his men : blind obedienc,e total loayalty and a taste for utter terror. Those men were illiterate scoundrels who knew nothing of the world and it disgraced him as he confessed to Quani Colotl. In Quani Colotl he found a true soul mate, a heartless man who udnerstood the need to rule over manking, to instill fear in the heart of men so any people facing him would either bow theri head or face certain doom. This is the manner Quani dealt with
being a God, by patterning himself after Kronos, leader of the fabled Four Horsemen.

The origins of Lootje De Groot

Born in the Groningue province of Netherlands, Lootje was an orphan girl raised by catholic nuns in an orphanage where older girls taught her a few tricks of the fingers to steal what she needed (food, things a girl would like) and of the tongue for their own nightly enjoyments. When puberty hit off, Lootje was a quite savy teenage girl who turned the hair of the mother superior white with worry.

And when her girlfriends' menstrual cycles came and went, surprise, Lotje didn't get anything. No blood. No cramps. She was barren. The mother superior found out and thought she would never made a proper bride at
eighteen, unable to carry children - not that Lootje minded. Finally at eighteen, Lootje was given away to a mortal from Winschoten who took her away and married her anyway. He found her beautiful and what if she couldn't bear any children ? He didn't care.
As soon as Lootje was married, she embarked on a life of adventures and pleasures in the city of Winschoten until her cuckolded husband finally disowned her and kicked her out of his home. Lootje was forced to move to the bigger city of Gronigue where she made a living as a courtesan with whatever money she stole from her ex-husband. It was a good life, all things considered, until the
Counter-Remonstrant unrest of 1617 when she was taken in mob violence and was killed by mercenary troops in charge of taming the riots.

When fortune smiles upon a girl like Lootje and allows her to find a soul-sister like Swenja of Nuremberg, it is the proof that the Game is also made of good surprises and can give relief from the dom and gloom routine of immortal life.
Swenja was robbing a jewel store in the city when the riot erupted and sensed the presence of Lootje as she laid dead in the street, ready to awaken; investigating the matter - but quick ! The store was robbed, the jewels were in her purse - Swenja found the terrified Lootje being assaulted by the waardelegers, and that Swenja couldn't allow it.
There was no way she would allow a fellow immortal to go through the horrors of gang-rape. She dispatched the pack of rapists with much kicking, screaming and
disembowellement before helping the scared and confused Lootje to her feet.
'Come with me if you want to live forever' she said and the two girls ran as fast as they could.

When Swenja gave 'the talk' to Lootje in a tavern of Branthe, Lootje was befuddled. She never believed the wild tale of Jesus on his cross multiplying loaves of bread and when hit on the left jaw she used to respond in kind; she could accept that men and women could live on forever - between Jesus, Lazarus and the tale of Saint-Germain she was well-versed in immortality - and that
someday one of them would receive a Prize (sort of like heaven ? she asked. No one knows for sure, said Swenja).
She could accept the swordfights - hey, 17th century was the Renaissance of swordfighting - but Quickenings ? Freak storms giving you power beyond belief ?
Beheadings ? There were people ready to take her head... and she had to take theirs before they did ? Whew.
Lootje was born and raised a practical girl, she always needed to check everything before believing. 'To see is to believe' she used to say to her husband who told of his prowesses in bed but could barely hold his own in bed.

Lootje didn't mind never giving birth (she had seen enough botched labors to give her nightmares for a lifetime) and after having been branded as barren she
had been cast out by most of her so-called friends at the orphanage.
Swordfighting was another thing, but Swenja taught her how much fun it could be when a woman got rid of her dresses, put on trousers and walked around freely;
she taught her to read and speak German, Italian, French, a little Greek, English, some Polish; develloped her knowledge of Europe's history. Swenja told her of Holy Grounds, of the legends surrounded them : of how men who killed in churches or in cemeteries vanished like smoke, of immortals who had turned crazy after killing one immortal too many.
Of the tricks seemingly harmless immortals can use in the Game : immortal children and women could do very well, she assured Lootje. Then she told her about her life, about how she had learnt to stop worrying and love the immortal world, love the Quickenings, love men and their folly, how she discovered sexuality could be a means to utterly manipulate men and that men were weak creatures led by their loins and that it was women who led the world, after all. 'Lootje, she told her, the world is our playground, all we have to do is eat the fruits of immortality and live on happily forever'.
'And don't forget, she added, avoid immortal men when you can, because they are way too strong for us, but if you can't... attack is the best defense, so choose your ground, bare your sword and face what is to come. Woman or man, it is the same thing. Just gor for it and reap your reward : a good Quickening !'

After this, Lootje and Swenja left for Germany where they stayed a few years before Swenja's wanderlust infected Lootje and they decided to travel in earnest.

Juanita Vasquez has been an overachiever for most of her life, since the days of the Mexican Revolution as a lover of Pancho Villa. With Yolanda Vargas she found a soul sister and both women became the Thelma and Louise of the Immortal scenery. When the Immortal War came, Juanita Vasquez had no fear in her heart, fear was a dragon she put down a long time ago. And now that the Gathering is at hand, Immortals rumored to go exctinct during the next decade, Juanita intends to face the sword with her name on it and to make sure she goes out wth a smirk, a joke and a bang.

Diggins on a burial site dating back to 1700 AD has allowed the finding of a decapitated squeletton with a sword nearby. The sword, a greek hoplite rapier, was perfectly preserved and the fact that Baldoni paled when he found the sword seems to indicate he knew the man buried. Obviously these are the remains of an immortal, a possible past acquaintance of Baldoni. I suggest we launch reserch to find which immortals lost a battle in Athens around the 18th century so we can put a name on this squeleton.

Finally the dark angel of poetry, the greatest poet of the immortal world has re-appeared on Watcher scope after nearly two hundred years, since his diseappearance during the Greek's uprising against the Ottoman Empire. The legendary disciple of the elusive Methos and close associate of Deoneces and Kyra of Sparta was thought long-dead, killed in the Game or during the Immortals War. We should have known better. Deoneces and Kyra always looked after their friends and close associates and certainly made sure Byron lived a quite, discreet life away from the prying eyes of the Watdchers and of the mortal world.

Today, he his back on stage in Chihuahua, Mexico, as a musician and writer of poetry. He has discarded his addictions to opium and cocaine and looks forward to a future where he needn't be afraid of agressive headhunters anymore, concentrating on his music and preparing an album of songs and another one of instrumental music, describing the wild tales of legendary Corsican heroes. This is a good life.

The final battle of slaver Morgan Walker against Methos, aka Adam Pierson, allowed to cross-identify the elusive immortal as Doctor Benjamin Adams of New Orleans, an immortal who travelled from North America to Western Europe - France and Switzerland - where he took the name of Doctor Polidori.
In Switzerland, Adams befriended a trio of English poets, Lord Gordon Byron, Percy Bysse Shelley and his wife Mary Shelley who became the author of the infamous novel 'Frankenstein, the Modern Prometheus', thus eclipsing her husband's poetry with her prose. The inspiration for the novel came from two incidents in her life : the first being the death of her infant daughter, the second the death of her friend Byron accidentally hit by lightnings during a freak storm during the quatuor's stay in Geneva where Mary wrote her novel.

Percy, Mary and 'Polidori' brought their friend's body in their home but were warned by Polidorito not call a doctor; 'our friend shall awake soon', he said. Disbeliving, the Shelleys were amazed to see Byron's body move convulsively with him screaming in pain as he awoke from his First Death. The fascinated friends listened in awe to Polidori's tales of immortals walking the eartth for centuries, fighting until only one remains, coming back from the dead time and time again. Polidori confessed her was Benjamin Adams from New Orleans and that he originally fled one of his kind, he also confessed he was thousands of years old and that indeed, the Wandering Jew and the fabled Saint-Germain existed as immortals and that many of folk tales and stories of dead people reviving were true.

Mary became so inspired by Byron's resurrection that she found in her the story of Frankenstein : a man seeking the secrets of life, who would bring immortality to the living,; a creature born from lightnings and ceaselessly tormented by his unique condition. Polidori / Adams made her swear she would disguise herstory as a work of fiction, which she did.
But we know the truth : the Modern Promotheus is Lord Byron; and iindeed he became so during the Grek War of Independance when he swore he would bring freedom to the peopleof the Balkans and participated in the Greek's rebellion against the Ottoman Empire. It is likely Polidori / Methos may have introduced Byron to Deoneces and Kyra of Sparta who accepted any help they could get, and graciously invited the poet in their covenant.
June 1825 saw the siege of Messolonghi with Deoneces, Kyra and Byron defending the city against the Ottomans; Byron disappeared during those terrible days, but is believed to be still living somewhere, bringing the fire of knowledge to mortals as he always yearned to do.

ADDENDUM

Lord Byron has been known to be married to a prude woman who bore him several children and was rumored to have never cheated on her husband, thus calling in question his immortality. Immortals are a sterile species. Actually, Byron’s wife was a hypocryte who cheated on her husband on more than one occasion and always claimed her pregnancies were the fruits of Byron’s amourous ardor; she disguised her scandalous ways under the pretense of being a chaste, God-fearing woman but was called ‘the whore of Byron’ behind her back.

The Maya held the belief that cenotes or limestone sinkholes were portals to the underworld and sacrificed human beings to please the water god Chaac. The most notable example of this is the "Sacred Cenote" at Chichen Itza where extensive excavations have recovered the remains of 42 individuals, half of them under twenty years old. In 1913, archaeologist Sylvanus G. Morley persuaded the Carnegie Institution to fund an extensive archaeological project at Chichén Itzá, which included mapping the ruins and restoring several of the monuments. The Mexican Revolution and the following government instability prevented the Carnegie from beginning work until 1924. Over the course of 10 years, the Carnegie researchers led by immortal archaeologist Carlo Baldoni excavated and restored the Temple of Warriors and the Caracol. Baldoni had the surprise of finding the well-preserved remains of an immortal girl who must have been locked up there for the past 1600 years. Baldoni recovered the body of the young woman today known as Antonia Guidera and taught her about human history, about the tragic demise of her people the Mayas, about the Conquistadores and more importantly about immortals and about the Game. Guidera recently landed a position as curator in Mexico City, trying to preserve the past of the natives of her original country. Watcher research was successful at establishing her aproximate birth date as circa 150 AD, making her one of the oldest living Mesomaerican Immortals.

As the children told themselves to Olympe and Jason, they were recruited by Galien and Hekate to hunt those of their kind since the start of the migrant crisis and were given a taste of the Quickening when Hekate killed off an Immortal and allowed the children to share the fallen Immortal’s life essence, making them addcted tot the surge of power. Under the influence of Galien and Hekate they hunted those of their kind and killed at least six Immortals from Middle Eastern countries and Southern Europe before landing in Cyprus. Jason and Olympe were going to be their next quarries.
The three elder boys only complied to protect the two young girls who themselves lived through the horrors of war and sexual slavery and became hollow shells, desperate for nurturing and protection. The Cyprus Child Pack makes up a close-knit little family but they are still children – hardened killers, but children nonetheless, not yet corripted by age and experience on the Immortal scene. Jason and Olympe feel that under the proper guidance, the children may have a chance of living of the next few decades, if only the boys could learn to curb their more aggressive tendancies. The Game doesn’t need anotehr Kenneth or another roving pack like the Coyoteros in Mexico.

Jinny Dall thought she’d get her revenge when she confronted Kanwulf in Leverburgh, four hundred years after he raped her and left her broken in the outer hebrides. Unfortunately, her demons drover her mad and when finally it was time to face her own private demon in the flesh, her resolve faltered. She saw the once proud viking plunderer reduced to a hollow shell of the man, a madman looking for his treasured axe. But Kanwulf is like Jinny Dall, he never forget to tie up loose ends and when he saw how the apt fighter Jinny Dall was, he picked his sword and gave her the fight she wanted.
Sometimes, you must be careful what you wish for : you may get it and also get a sword through your neck.

Well, as I stated previously a lot of those groups (especially in Africa) are now listed as missing, especially the Chaggas, Bakongos, Fulani quartet and presumably the Himba clan (one survivor only). The Brotherhood of Ra got wipied out recently, the delightful Sisters of the Night (tuaregs) were killed by Ari al-Muzaiyin, the Spartan-like Dahomey Amazons are missing and so are the Bani Israeel Brothers; ISLAM group has been wiped out by the ESA who in turn were killed by Deoneces and Kyra. The Kalubino brothers were part of an old Maasai clan comprising Jakaya Mrisho and the Theuri couple, and now the entire clan has been wiped out by the Game.

The two surviving groups are the Black Mambas and the Afar Clan. In total we have 67 Immortals who made up clans and groups in a population of 500+ immortals on the entire African continent, that's not much.

Remember Africans do not live like Europeans do : living in clans and tribes is a priority for survival as well as an essential element of Africans cultures in any parts of the black continent. So I thought interesting to describe a few clans and tribes.

Jeong Soochan was found decapitated in 1988 during Summer Olympic games and this caused a diplomatic incident between Japan and Korea when the murder was pinned on a Japanese citizen by Name of Hiro Kanagawa. Kanagawa got out of this mess thanks to bribery but no one will forget Jeong Soochan.
Search was in motion to find the quarrel between Soochan and Kanagawa through the tense history between Japan and Korea and it was found how Jeong’s’s foster daughter and pre-immortal Ryom Joo-hee had been enslaved by the Japanese as part of the comfort women slave operation led by Kanagawa and Kanagawa himself raped Ryom. Jeong died trying to avenge his daughter’s honor who never recovered from her ordeal.

The encounter of Jason Samaris and Olympe Dimitrakos with the band of roving headhunting migrant children who have been active since the beginning of the migrant crisis ended with the two Immortals taking out the band’s ringleaders, two Middle Eastern Immortals using the children as pawns in the Game as they have been doing for centuries. Now the children are free to go where they please. Jason and Olympe decided to train the kids themselves adopting them as their own little family, but those are not innocent children anymore, they had a taste of the Quickening and a strange hunger animate them. A hunger for more. It will take a lot of work and efforts from the Greek couple to curb the pack’s violent tendencies, lest they become as dangerous players of the Game as the Coyoteros of Mexico.

I killed Amestrin of Ugarit during the Bronze Age collapse when we rode in the Middle East and destroyed entired cities, passing people to the sword, killign and raping and burning and looting. The madness seemed to go on forever. Kronos raped Ugarit and then we three took turns with Silas and Caspian. Who would take the head and Quickenign was decided with dice. I won become I was lucky and smarter than my brothers. When I read those words it feels like an ancient demon speaking and maybe I still am. The old Methos is lurking somewhere and this is one of the things I am still afraid of.

The Immortal who killed Water DeGrey in 1882 may have been Mameluk warrior woman Mihrimah Pamuk and we do hope she wasn’t afflected with DeGreys pathological obsession for his missing picture when sse took his Quickening. DeGrey was obsessed with a painting representing him and which was cursed by the painter who made it for him. The painter was Jan DeMooys, a dutch little devil who suspected DeGrey’s Immortal nature and sentenced him to a life of torment after DeGrey killed his wife during a foiled rape.DeMooys delved in black magic and his curse somehow worked because if something happened to the painting, it reflected itself on DeGrey and DeGrey kept it locked until it was stolen in 1821. From 1821 to 1882 DeGrey scoured most of Western Europe in search for it and never found it until he was clued in by a Casablanca thief who disclosed the possible location of the painting. In Egypt. While stationed there, DeGrey took part in the battle of Tel El-Kebit and was challenged by a Mameluk warrior who took his head and Q.
Whatever may have happened to the painting through sixty years, the curse worked, Walter DeGrey was damned.
And now the painting, recovered by DeGrey’s Watcher, orantes the main lecture hall of Watcher Academy in Zurich.

It should be noted that not all of Richeard of Mercia's recorded kills were politically motivated or enemies on the battlefield. In fact, several have been Immortals unlucky enough to cross his path while indulging in various nefarious activities which the Saxon found unpalatable. One early victim of Richeard's wrath was Rodolphe of Nordgau. A particularly unpleasant character, a former apothecary who became a master of potions and poisons, after being stoned to death when failing to cure an illness that resulted in infant fatalities. Rodolphe went on to apply his herbal skills to line his own pockets; he would sneak into towns and villages and pollute the water supply with an elixir of his own making, nothing fatal, but it would cause rather nasty symptoms and spread rapidly. Then Rodolphe would ride to the rescue with a "miracle" cure which he would administer - for a hefty price, of course. Rodolphe was not a simple scam artist either. In fact, he was more than willing to murder to cover his tracks and had left a trail of bodies in a dozen countries in two centuries. Which is why when Richeard caught wind of his activities in Coutances while he and Alfgar were in exile in Normandy, the Saxon Immortal made a point of warning Rodolphe off. But the Swiss Immortal did not heed his advice and Richeard is not one to give second chances; he's as ruthless as Deoneces of Sparta when it comes to carrying out threats: he means what he says and is more than willing to carry it out. So when Rodolphe continued his scheming, Richeard hunted him down and ruthlessly dispatched him without mercy.

Botany has always been a great hobby of Bertric’s. He learned about plants and herbs from Brother Aloyisus the Abbey’s herbalist, when he would stayed after the Crusades. Aloysisus was a great teacher and
friend to him and the chronicles of that time tell of the friendship and adventures that they had. He put much of use of herbs and healing on the battlefield. Much of his life was spent as a soldier, guide, or a mercenary.
But no matter where he was, when he gets back home he has seeds or cuttings from some plant he has come across.
Lately he has been putting his knowledge to use in the lab. Grace Chandel has been pestering him to join her in the lab to help synthesize new medicines from various plants. The work seems to be going well and they

The Immortals Court of Beauties led by Niccolo Machiavelli, renowned author of The Prince and apostle of "right makes might", first appears on Watchers scope in 1656 during a confrontation with Duncan MacLeod that ended with Machiavelli being entombed for at least two hundred years before he re-appears around 1897 in Rome, and most of the Court in disarray with half its membership either dead or missing. Machiavelli had been scouring Renaissance-days Southern, Western
Europe and Northern Asa in search of pre-immortals he could mold into perfect agents of espionnage in the European courts, to fill his means of political and
financial manipulations.

The Game Machiavelli played was of intrigue, manipulations, more than the Immortal Game itself for which he had nothing but disdain.Machiavelli ruthlessly manipulated his "pawns", never hesitating to sacrifice
them when needed, using his righ-hand man Ruffio Mocenigo as executioner.

The Renaissance Court was made of :

- Sergeil Aloysovitch : spy at court of Alexei I, Czar of Russia. Killed by Ruffio Mocenigo during the battle between MacLeod and the Court.

- Paloma Alcina : seductress and spy at the court of Kingof Spain Philippe IV. Paloma died in 1662 against Felicia Martins in Madrid where she lived as a madam, having lost the support of Machiavelli.

- Brother Andre and Brother Jean Pierre, two Franciscan months assigned to the Vatican went missing and re-appeared in 1770 at St. Christopher Monastery, where
they lived in peace until Brother Paul's death at the blade of Antonius Kalas in 1995. They became Paul's sucessors and are now in charge St. Christopher, welcoming any peaceful immortal seeking safe haven in their home.

- Bernardo Caprio and Giulietta Fantini : one master forger, the other an art thief, working together to replace famous paintings by fakes, to fill Machiavelli's private collection. Treasures were recovered in his home,
including a "lost" work by Leonardo Da Vinci and another one by Rafaello. They were killed in Venice in 1668 by Marcello Bartoli, unable to defend themselves, having learned nothing about sword-fighting.

- Cristofori : another spy, this time infiltrating the families of Visconti and Medici, gaining political weight in service to his master. Cristofori died against Walter Reinhardt in 1718 in Vienna where he was living off the wealth accumulated during his days in Venice.

- Eugenia de la Croix and Annette Rouen were spies and courtesans at King Louis XIV's Court of Versailles. Eugenia went missing, Annette died against Terence Kincaid in Bordeaux.

- Ruffio Mocenigo was the only surviving member of the Court to present times, having gathered a new group of immortals for Machiavelli.

In 250 AD, In a city called Ephesus, located in today's Turkey, the Emperor Decius refused to believe in God alone. He did not like the new Christian religion and was punishing those who did not listen to him or follow him. Many of the Christians at this time were punished, expelled from their homes or killed for refusing to obey him.

Some young men, seven of them (Malcus, Maximian, John, Dionysius, Constantine, Seraphim and Martinian), refused to obey the Emperor and want to continue to worship God alone. They were afraid that the Emperor may kill them if they stayed around or force them to obey him. They took their dog with them and escaped the city and found a cave outside the city. They decided to hide in the cave. God decided to put them to sleep for 300 years until the Emperor and his children died and the good believing Christian took control of the city. When they woke up after 300 years they felt hungry and sent one of them, Malcus, to buy them food from the city. When he went to the city and bought the food, he gave them the old money he had. The people of the city then realized this person is one of the youths who escaped to the cave and were delighted to find them. They treated them well and allowed them to worship God alone, freely until they died and buried them in the cave. This particular legend was current during the 6th century and was referred to by Gregory of Tours.

Now, here are the more likely facts about their myths : the circumstances behind them being forced to hide in a cave are certainly true, the Christians were still suffering from persecutions at this time. It is proven in the Chronicles that all but one of of the Sleepers were ancient immortals, with Malcus a pre-immortal. Malcus probably suffered his first death from oxygen deprivation alongside his brothers, and laid dormant during three centuries - 180 years is more likely - until the cave was opened.

Earlier chronicles, from the 15th century BC to the time of the Sleepers entombement, state immortals called like the other Sleepers - Dyonisius and Marcus Constantine - lived in the Mediterranean area. It is likely that when Jesus Christ began performing his "miracles" and Gathering disciples, they heard his call and converted themselves to christianity, whatever their religious beliefs were. For centuries, a group of seven immortals spread the word of Christ around the civilized world, not limiting themselves to the Mediterranean area.

Malcus is the last surviving Sleeper of Ephesus : the six others either died or went missing centuries ago.

- Constantine (who shouldn't be confused with Marcus Constantine, the former Roman general) died against Ahaziah of Ramoth-gilead in 300 AD, over a religious dispute.

- Seraphim went missing in 500 AD, he was last seen on the border of the Caspian sea before re-appearing at St. Christopher Monastery where he lived for a decade before being killed by Antonius Kalas.

- Dyonisius, oldest of the Sleepers, died against General Darius at the gates of Paris in 451 AD, changing an invicible warrior into a man of peace.

- John (aka Johannes of Belgium) lost a battle against Selim Ubadah in Morocco in 700 AD, as he was trying to convert a local tribe to christianity.

- Maximian went missing in 1190 AD during the Third Crusade as he was sailing to Jerusalem with hundreds of other crusaders. The boat he was travelling on was caught in a storm and never reappeared. He re-appeared in France in 1307 and was killed by Uneric the Vandal during the persecutions of the Templar Knights by Phillip the Fair

- Martinian was beheaded by the Kurgan in 1276 after the massacre of Zograf Monastery in Greece. During his battle with Flavio Parrocchi in 1663, the Kurgan gloated he had the privilege of slaying one of the fabled Seven Sleepers after hunting him down during seven days and seven nights.

Udpate 22.10.2012 : As recently told by Malcus of Ephesus during his stay in London in the middle of the Immortals War, Dyonisus mentored all six of the other Sleepers of Ephesus who turn out to be six actual brothers from Ephesus. How six pre-immortal boys turned out in Ephesus at the beginning of the 3rd century is as unlikely as six pre-immortals born in Vinland during the 10th century; however, the Six of Vinland do exist and their origin story was confiormed by Kanwulf and by Bjorn Gustavson themselves.
Hence, the need to update the Sleepers’ chronicles accordingly and to work on the first recorded sightings of the men bearing the names of Constantine and Seraphim of Ephesus.

There isn't one Prince Charming Chronicle, when you look at it, as the identity was assumed by three different immortals (Ashe, Fitzmartin, Lord Terence), with only one having survived the Game over the centuries. Cinderalla was a student of the third Prince Charming whose stories were chronicled by Hans and Jacob Grimm under the guise of dark fairy tales. Hannah's life wasn't a fairy tale from her point of view : after that nasty business with Lady Tremaine and her stepsisters and swearing she would never be anyone's slave again, Hannah swore she would never be a victim of the Game and always avoided others of her kind as much as possible and remains among the large number of immortals who have never taken a head in their entire lifetime. Many people prefer to view prostitution as a "lifestyle choice," or even an "addiction" to a lifestyle. They think most people in the sex industry are there to support their drug habits, when actually the drugs are used to cope with what is happening to their lives. Society assumes that nothing can be done to help them, so there is no need to try. The pimps count on it. When Zoltan Lazlo was beheaded by Alice Nichols in 1943, the Watchers launched research to find out the identity of the red-haired prostitute who had so boldly challeged and beheaded the Magyar immortal.

It turned out Alice Nichols was really Alice McKenzie, a prostitute who had been murdered by an imitator of Jack the Ripper in London, 1889. She was mentored by none other than Virgil the Magician, researcher and writer of books who rid the 20th Century of Jack the Ripper, and taught her how to fend for herself in the world of immortality. Alice switched identity three times since the 19th cent. (as far as we know), always assuming the names of famous victims of Bloody Jack : Polly Nichols, Mary Kelly and Liz Stride.
Once a hooker, always a hooker : Alice doesn't see why she should change her lifestyle since her immortality prevent her from STDs, disgruntled customers and threatening pimps which are common in such a hazardous line of work.

Alice lived in San Francisco in 1953 when she found the battered body of Lucy Bettles, a withered woman who she had seen selling her body to demanding men in the area where she was working, so that she could support her drug addiction. "Angel" Bettles was lucky to find Alice by her side who brought her home, cleaned her up, fed her and told her of immortality and of the Game. Alas, Angel was a drug addict who didn't last two years in the Game before getting killed by an unknown party.

The Chronicle of Nikola Tesla

There are two reasons "Tesla the Magician" is also known as "Tesla the Madman".

Tesla's legacy can be seen across modern civilisation wherever electricity is used. Tesla considered his exploration of various questions raised by science as ultimately a means to improve the human condition with the principles of science and industrial progress, and one that was compatible with nature. However, many of his achievements have been used, sometimes inappropriately and with some controversy, to support various pseudosciences, UFO theories, and New Age occultism. Tesla wanted to use science to improve the human condition.

At the price, naturally, of a few heads belonging to minor immortals, whose deaths would come unnoticed in the immortal community.
He subjected fellow immortals to painful electricity-based experimentations in his laboratory, kidnapping them then testing their resistance to electricity before he would be taking their heads. There are records of mortals in his neighborhood who witnessed strange electric arcs coming off his house with windows exploding. That was Tesla killing another one of his kind "in the name of science", he claimed, and he had been practicing since the early 20th Century when he took part in the Industrial Revolution with his inventions like "wireless communication", deemed a magician because of his electrical feats.

An investigation was made regarding the disappearance of eleven immortals living in various places of the world, minor immortals who seldom played the Game, all having been in contact with one medical doctor or another, all were Tesla living under assumed names.
Those immortals were kidnapped between 1912 and 2008 and subjected to experiments based on electric power before being killed; Tesla hired a group of mortal mercenaries to do the dirty work for him and conducted the experiments himself. To him, sacrificing a few lives was well worth seeing his vision of a new world come true. It came true : we became totally reliant on nuclear-based electrical power. Not counting mortals'essential needs for oil. Let's see the look on his face when the Oil Peak brings forth a new Dark Age era on mankind. We'll certainly need his genius then, if he still has his head on his shoulders.

The second reason was his attempt at overthrowing the government of the United States of America during the 1890's , backed up by a cadre of the world's richest men. All this to create a new nation dominated by himself and his genius, creating a "paradise on Earth" for the upcoming 20th Century. He was helped in his enterprise by his paramour, a mortal woman known as "Ada, the Countess of Lovelace" who had invented the "Thinking Machine", an ancestor to modern-day computers. Ada was completely subjugated to Tesla's will and unfortunately perished because of Tesla when his plans got twarted by P.T Barnum and his ragtag band of "anomalies" (all circus performers, including siamese twins, an amazon and a fire-breather). Weeks of plotting, scheming and battling, Tesla's plans had gone to smoke, Ada was dead, Barnum and his friends stood triumphant. A part of history forever forgotten by the mortals but to be found in the Watchers'chronicles.

Tesla escaped with his life and ran back to Sarajevo where the Archiduke could "prove" Tesla had spent the last six motnhs working for his government.
In 1943, looking considerably aged through the use of cosmetics, Tesla tried to publish a theory on the unified field, which was seen by the scientific commmunity as exeeding the bounds of reason. The year of his public death, Tesla had transferred his wealth to a secret bank account in Geneva and didn't bother paying his debts to his many debitors; instead he faked his death and fled for an unknown destination with his latest invention, a death-ray gun. His Watcher lost him at that time before he re-appeared in South America in the 1990's.

Report on the Six of Vinland

The Vikings, like other sea-rovers, are not as romantic as nineteenth-century fiction would make them out to be; neither are they exclusively the blood-thirsty ravishers depicted in the chronicles of the monks of England and Ireland. They may not have worn horned helmets, but they did sail ships carved with dragons' heads and they ventured far out into the western sea in search of new lands and adventure. In about 1000 AD, Leif Eriksson (son of Erik the Red) explored the new continent, acompanied by immortals Ejnar Kanwulfsson and Sygin Fenrisdottir, the latter being later cross-referenced as Kellistra, student of the fabled Four Horsemen. For the next ten years a number of voyages were made from Greenland to the new land, which the Norselmen called "Vinland" because of the profusion of grapes that grew there. Sygin and Kanwulf settled there and created a colony that flourished, adopted several orphaned Viking children they named after Gods of Norse mythology : Eir, Freya, Thor, Heimdall, Kvasir and Balder.
More than one century went on before the prophecy of six immortal Vikings born from Vinland would come true. Kanwulf and Sygin's clan enlarged itself and then came the time for her brethen to leave the paradise for a much harsher world. The six children she adopted and who all turned out to be immortals spent decades discovering the North-Amercian continent before leaving for the land of their ancestors toward the beginning of the 12th century.
The Vinland immortals had originally decided to stay in the New World when their mortal comrades all returned to Greenland and Iceland because they were disgusted when the Vikings converted to Christianity. This happened just before the year 1000 AD and created much controversy. What happened is, some of the Vikings had converted; most had not; then some of them appealed for judgement to a highly respected thane, and he mulled over the question for about a year and then announced that the entire Viking nation ought to convert en masse. His opinion had the force of law and the pagan Vikings, much to their disgust, were obliged to comply. This legal judgement led ultimately to the conversion of all Norsemen to Christianity . The Six of Vinland, though, rejected the whole business and washed their hands of their brethren in disgust. They still protect each other and each other's families and each New Year's eve they gather with their families and immortal students to remember legends of times past when all of them were heroes.

Following, are reports on each of the Six of Vinland, who were first identified in London during the infamous Hunt for Jack the Ripper (File#57458-1899).

Balder : in mythology, God of radiance, peace, and rebirth
Writing about the end of the 12th century, the Danish historian Saxo Grammaticus tells the story of Baldr (recorded as Balderus) in a form which professes to be historical. According to him, Balderus and Høtherus were rival suitors for the hand of Nanna, daughter of Gewar, King of Norway. Now Balderus was a demigod and common steel could not wound his sacred body. The two rivals encountered each other in a terrific battle. Though Odin and Thor and the rest of the gods fought for Balderus, he was defeated and fled away, and Høtherus married the princess. Nevertheless Balderus took heart of grace and again met Høtherus in a stricken field. But he fared even worse than before. Høtherus dealt him a deadly wound with a magic sword, named Mistletoe, which he had received from Miming, the satyr of the woods; and after lingering three days in pain Balderus died of his injury and was buried with royal honours in a barrow.

Balder is the wisest of the Six, whose First Death while raiding a coastal town in Iceland created a chain of events that led to the destruction of Sygin Fenridottir colony of Vinland and the Kabwulfsson's abrupt departure to North America. Balder was the longest to be revived, his body being carried by his brothers across the Vinland colony to be revived in his own house. The mortal Vikings of Vinland were amazed to say the least, and saw Balder as a God walking among men, which his family didn't like since they thrived for discretion were their immortality was concerned. Balder was last to reach immortality and it is through those circumstances that Kellistra and her family left Vinland.

The Von Arlon Family

One would think the Watchers would have noticed the existence of a family of immortal children, surviving in the vast world, by themselves and staying united against dangerous immortals. Yet, if they ran from each immortal they met and remained quiet, it's not surprising we've been missing out on them. The "Lost Children", as we dub them, are a family of seven children, the eldest being a teenage boy who looks barely sixteen. However, given the poor nutrition and growth conditions of the Dark Ages, it is likely they may have met their First Death later than at 16 years old or 12 years old in the case of Clemens. From what we know of them, they were born in the sixteen years before the Great Plague struck Europe, which mean they became immortal around 1348. They are close-knit, don't seem shy around other immortals, and are not afraid to fight when forced to.

Franz and his siblings reffered to themselves as the Von Arlon family. So we looked for a Von Arlon family who would have lived in isolation in Germany, during the Dark Ages, near the time of the Black Death. After a torough search in old records, we discovered how an immortal called Baron Von Arlon wed a woman named Irmgard, who had the reputation of being a witch, and settled with her in his castle of Bavaria. An isolated castle where they raised a family of seven children from 1332 (birth of their first adopted son) to 1342 (birth of their seventh child).
We think they might have gathered pre-immortal children until the rats brought the Plague from Asia, spreading it all across Europe. According to those records, the Von Arlon timeline went like this :
Kurt Von Arlon married Irmgard the witch the 21th September of 1330. They traveled together two years before settling in the Bavarian castle were little Franz was born the 3rd July of 1332.
Six other children were adopted the following years, each birth separated by twenty-four months. After Franz came Benedict & Beatrix (1334), Clemens (1336), Isolde (1338), Ingrid (1340) and Niklaus (1342) who died in early infancy.
In 1348, the Great Plague struck. Not even the isolated conditions in which this family lived in could protect them from the black death.

The way the Von Arlons fight is reminiscent of a wolf pack, Franz (the elder boy) striking the first blow with his sword and his siblings rushing to pin the poor guy to the ground. And then, Franz strikes to kill. The Lost Children are very distinct from each other and seems to have different traits of characters, yet they behave as a kind of social hierarchy.
Is it an act ? they are severn immortal teens and pre-teens, they are aware of it and they all carry customized swords with short blades. They had to learn to live as children in an adult world for the past seven centuries but they remain children : no wonder Kenny behaves like a spoiled brat, no hormones to trigger growth, to add cerebral matter and to lead him toward adulthood. The same apply to them : four kids forever frozen in time.

A team of Watchers has been following them since they left the Canton of Zurich. They stayed a few days with the Rochia Family in Geneva on sacred grounds from July to August 2004. Then left on their merry way, travelling south to Brother Paul St. Christopher Monastery. After Paul's death, the monastery has been placed under the care of Brother Jean-Pierre d'Albertville and Brother Andre de Florac, two former members of Machiavelli's Court of Beauties.
The Lost Children were guests here, and seeme to come and go as they please, sharing their mother’s taste for long travels and art : during the few months spent at St.Christopher’s they were seen re-enacting old tales like the Knights of the Round Table or a Midsummer’s Night Dream for the entertainment of their fellow immortal guests. After the end of the Immortals War, they decided to leave London for Koln, a holy city in Germany where they intend to reunite with their German roots.

ADDENDUM
A German fairy tale...

Once upon a time in a high castle of Bavaria, lived a powerful witch who was very wise and whose name was Irmgard. That witch had a husband who was a knight, Count Von Arlon, and both yearned for children of their own.
But the knight was cursed and couldn't sire children. One night the witch spoke to her husband and prophesized:
"Through magic we shall have seven children together, of both genders, they will look like you. But there will come a terrible day some years hence when a terrible plague will affect us all and our children, although terribly sick and near death, will awaken and be sentenced to forever walk the earth."

The knight was worried that his own flesh should bear such a terrible curse but he desperately yearned for heirs to call his own and Irmgard knew it well. One night, one terrible night when thunderstorm struck the high castle, a child was conceived and nine months later was born. He was dark of skin, had dark, curly hair and when he cried for milk, wailed like a banshee. His name was Franz. He was a baby—in wonderful shape, strong and beautiful,who brought much joy to his father and mother. His father claimed he would become a powerful knight, his mother retorted he would be a magician and would lead his brothers and sisters in a life of adventures across Bavaria, through all of German lands and far, far beyond.

Within sixteen years, Irmgard the witch would bear six other children to her husband, all conceived in the middle of a thunderstorm which frightened villagers living around Von Arlon Castle. After Franz, twins were born who were named Benedict and Beatrix, one pale of skin, the other with a dark complexion, together joined by the hips. The witch separated the babies herself but all their life they would stand together, never forgetting they were born co-jointed.
Four years old Franz marveled at the presence of his twin sister and brother who although different in appearance, spoke and behaved as if living in one same body and showed clever minds at only two years old. The three siblings were soon joined by a new baby, Clemens who was unlike his parents in that he was blonde and had a fair complexion with piercing blue eyes. When hungry he never wailed, never cried, simply waited patiently for his milk, as if a good fairy had somehow told him that he had all the time in the world. Little Beatrix was quite fond of her new little brother and would often take him in her arms, singing him lullabies.

As years rolled on, three new children were born in Von Arlon Castle.Isolde, Ingrid and little Niklaus brought more joy in the place and soon the seven siblings found themselves united like the five fingers of the hand and Franz, Benedict and Beatrix, almost men and woman, took theirresponsibilities toward their siblings because Irmgard and the Count taught them so. Irmgard called them "her seven little ravens", her seven little wonders who had magic in their eyes and would wander the world, gathering knowledge and power.

Years passed by, then a terrible plague visited the country were the Von Arlon lived, a devastating plague that came from the Orient, from a place far, far away and which brought countries of Europe to their knees. There was nothing the knight and the witch could do to prevent the plague from affecting their children, and one by one, the Von Arlon siblings fell sick, and went inagony, near death. Irmgard, soothed their pain with a special soup she prepared for them, a soup that would prevent them from undergoing excruciating pain caused by the plague. Franz, Benedict, their bothers and sisters fell asleep, suffering no more. Von Arlon and his wife brought their children to their beds, tucked them in safely and retired, waiting.

One by one, the children died. And then, one by one, they woke up from a deep slumber which lasted one day and one night. They woke up in their beds, fully healed and cured, suffering no more. The oldest of them in puzzlement and awe, the youngest simply asking for their parents. Together they rejoined their loving mother and father who waited to them, happy to see them healthy and living again. Irmgard made them sit down and told them a story, so extraordinary they couldn't believe it.

The Count and the Witch were long-lived people belonging to a clan of long-lived being, Immortals living for centuries, who fought eachother to the death in the never-ending war of good vs evil. She the witch had lived hundreds and hundreds of years before Germany was calling itself Germany and the count himself, though younger than his wife, had live for nine centuries. They had met, fallen in love, and had decided to raise seven children together who would bear the same gifts and abilities immortality bestowed upon them. They explained how they wanted their seven little ravens to grow up, to take flight, to become able to survive in a cruel and violent world, but unfortunately the fates decided otherwise. The Great Plague struck, bringing death and desolation, and they would never grow up more than they had: they would remain children, with the exceptions of Franz, Benedict and Beatrix who were out of their childhood games when death took them.

The three first-born understood the gravity of the situation: they would have to stand united and protect the youngest of them, they would stay together until the end of time, untilthe fabled time when the last Immortals alive would fight to the last. The Gotterdamnerung was far away in time, they had countless opportunities to grow up together, to learn together and to fight together.

The final Gathering will see the SIS and the Hellife Club fight each others until one one remain. Unless they have killed each others beforehand.

About the final Gathering (circa 2025-30) I am thinking of several mini gatherings along the years before the grand finale.

Yeah, no worries, my friend. The mini-Gatherings are a good idea to whittle the numbers down somewhat. And i always planned that Richeard and Aldrich would be the last ones standing anyway, settling an old score as it were; they both started the SIS and the Hellfire Club, it's only fitting they should end it.

Also, could you post the active and inactive Immortals of Benelux, Germany, and Switzerland, please...
