The final Gathering will see the SIS and the Hellife Club fight each others until one one remain. Unless they have killed each others beforehand.

About the final Gathering (circa 2025-30) I am thinking of several mini gatherings along the years before the grand finale.

Nice photos, although i always pictured Jaime Murray as Evangeline. Plus, there are photos of her in 19th century garb from her role in Warehouse 13 as a previous English agent of the Warehouse of that time.

And Jonas Armstrong as Aldrich Monk with some great pictures of him in Ripper Street as Nathaniel Dove, ironically a 19th century serial killer.

For over one hundred years Damaen was a warrior who fought in many battles, but with his own code of conduct unusual for his time. He never raped or pillaged, fighting only those he considered warriors, and was good at it; one of the great Irish swordsmen of his generation. Then in 972, he fought his first Immortal and lost. Preparing to die, he was shocked when his head was spared, his opponent unwilling to kill a man of such honour and courage. Believing that God had intervened to spare his life to serve Him, Damaen discarded his sword, abandoning the warrior life for the robes of a priest.

Unfortunately, on 29 September 1011, he was in Canterbury, serving as a bishop, when the city was captured by the Danes led by Elfrida the Black Wolf, an early identity of the infamous Evangeline Black of the Hellfire Club. Aelfheah, the archbishop, was taken prisoner while Damaen was caught trying to flee by Elfrida's mortal Valkyries and dragged before their mistress, who was hungry for a Quickening. This time, even God could not spare Damaen from the Black Wolf's blade.

Glad the HC idea works for you. In the final gathering the two survivors of the SIS and HellFire Club will face each other... because yes, the best antagonists are always former blood-brothers or sisters.

1990 : Berlin, Germany. Kuyler is killed by Rogue Watchers.
1991 : In Seattle, Grayson tracks down the Cross of St. Antoine and kills John Durgan who won't hand it over to him.
Memphis TE. Kage, aka John Kirin, is murdered by a Rogue Watcher.

1992

Peru. Gavriel Larca is killed by immortal Rascar Inca Huaco.
Luxembourg. Irena Galati is murdered by James Horton.
Between 1992 and 1995, Jacob Galati murders roughly fifty Watchers.
Seattle WA. MacLeod becomes the guardian of pre-immortal Richie Ryan. Tessa is captured and nearly killed by Slan Quince who Duncan kills in front of Richie Ryan's to whom he explains hte Game and the existence of immortals.
Richie is nearly killed by Felicia Martins who targeted Duncan MacLeod; MacLeod defeats her but lets her go.
Steveston WA. Investigates the death of Lucas Desiree, fights and kills Howard Crowley.
Randi MacFarland investigates Duncan MacLeod and finds really odd things about the Highlander until she mysteriously vanishes without a trace. MacLeod is suspected while in fact Randi is sent to Watcher Academy and becomes a Field Watcher four years later.

1993

Seattle WA. MacLeod fights one of the most harrowing battles of his life when he takes on Grayson and is nearly killed. After finally defeating the ancient immortal, Duncan, Tessa and Richie leave for Paris.
Paris, France.
Grace Chandel kills ex-husband Carlo Sendaro
Gabriel Piton settles in Rome.
Unconclusive fight of DM against Xavier St. Cloud who loses his right hand to the Highlander.
Darius is murdered by the Hunters, MacLeod investigates his death and soon discovers the existence of the Watchers through Joe Dawson who shoots James Horton.
MacLeod, Richie and Tessa spend an uneventful year in Paris, reuniting with Robert & Gina de Valicourt, until Tessa and Richie are finally killed in a mugging. Richie turns immortal.
Seattle WA, Linda Plager dies. Gregor starts making trouble.
Pallin Wolf kills two more immortals before being found by Joe Dawson cleanup-squad, tried and executed.
Washington DC : Annie Devlin tries to murder an Irish ambassador whom she deems a traitor to the cause of Ireland.
Charlie DeSalvo loses his dojo and resumes his career as mercenary in Central America.

1994 : Paris, France. After killing Antoine Legris, James Horton and Xavier St. Cloud take on Duncan who was forewarned by interfering Joe Dawson. Dawson kills Horton for good (still checks for his pulse, just in case) while MacLeod rids the world from Xavier.
Marcus Constantine never finds Nefertiri and doesn't meet MacLeod. Rebecca Horne kills Luther.
Hit with wanderlust, Richie Ryan travels to Cordoba, Barcelona, Madrid: in Cordoba. He is hunted down by Martin Hyde right back to Paris where MacLeod disposes of an old ennemy. Richie decides he never want to be hunted again and starts training in earnest.
Tokyo, Japan. Duncan MacLeod kills Michael Kent to honor a centuries-long promise.
Balkans. Paul Karros gets in conflict with Andrew Cord and kills him.
Frank Brody is murdered by Kenneth who never meets Duncan and Richie.
Michelle Webster is killed in a car accident and is found by Axel Kjarstad.
US Southwest. Brian Cullen causes a traffic accident, killing and wounding several mortals. He escapes from the Albukerque hospital and start hunting other immortals in a drug-induced frenzy.

1995

Canada. Michael Christian targets May-Ling Shen who turns the table on him and kills him. Rita Luce is tried and executed by the Watcher Tribunal.
Paris, France. After a quiet year in Paris, MacLeod and Hugh Fitzcairn are targeted by the revengeful Kalas. Joe Dawson tips MacLeod on Watcher Adam Pierson for help on finding the elusive Methos before Kalas kills him. It turns out Pierson is Methos. Kalas murders Hugh Fitzcairn, Auberon, three Watchers, triggers the Watcher CD crisis and is finally killed by Jacques Vemas, a senior Watcher leading a clean-up squad going after Kalas and the lost cd.
Meanwhile, Richie runs into trouble with a competitive racer, an Immortal named Tristan Cagnat and is forced to kill him. He must leave Paris and goes on a road trip in America where he kills Felicia Martins, Brian Cullen, William Cullbraith. Meets the Messenger.
Glenfinnan, Scotland. MacLeod returns to his homeland, investigates a rash of brutal ritualistic murders and kills Kanwulf.
MacLeod returns to Seattle for a time, reunites with Methos
Kristin Gilles settles in Seattle, MacLeod cannot bring himself to kill her. Methos takes her down.
Pacific Northwest. Paul Kinman shoots Peter Kanis' dogs and takes the hunter's head. Four days later, in Miami, he is killed by Matthew of Salisbury, investigating the murder of FBI agent Kayla Brooks.
Los Angeles CA. Claudia Jardine is killed by Walter Graham who mistakenly believed her death will preserve her talent. Claudia decides she wants no part in the Game and that she needs the fear of death for he talent to blossom.

1996

Seattle WA. Methos falls for Alexa and takes her on a road trip.
James Coltec fights and kills Horvan Kant; centuries of absorbing the world's evils finally do him in as he becomes an homicidal psychopath, terrorizing Seattle before being killed by MacLeod who turns "evil." MacLeod nearly kills Richie and is stopped in time by Dawson who explains the facts of immortality and dark quickenigns to an understanding Richie.
Wales. Sean Burns runs the Black Friar Asylum for the Criminally Insane, the Arkham Asylum of the Highlander universe. He is killed by MacLeod. Methos later restores MacLeod's sanity.
Paris, France. Kassim ibn Sallis urges DM to keep his promise and help him save the life of the last Al Deneb son. A man of honor, Duncan keeps his word.
Duncan and Amanda try to mentor Danny Cimoli who in turn tries to go after DM's head. Duncan sends him packing.
Duncan and Methos help Warren Cochrane find his memory back after he killed his student. Duncan, Methos as well as other immortals guests atend the 300th anniversary of Robert & Gina de Valicurt's wedding.
Duncan and Methos attend the trial of Joe Dawson, indicted for breaking the Watcher's oath of non-interference. Meanwhile, Jacob Galati hunts and kills Watchers for the murder of his wife, Irena. In the end, Jack Shapiro, head of Watcher Tribune, murders Galati. MacLeod forcefully ends the Immortal/Watchers war before it becomes uncontrollable.
Washington DC. Carl Robinson is a pro baseball player. He briefly reunites with his former teacher who agrees to forget Carl killed his wife's father 150 years ago.
Pacific Northwest. Corey Raines lives the high life of a bank robber.
Moscow, Russia. Ingrid Henning's crimes are put to and end by Dimitri Bukharin, BMR.
Bordeaux, France. Deoneces< and Kyra of Sparta put an end to the existence of the Four Horsemen.
Paris, France. Steven Keane forces Duncan to come to terms with the crimes he committed after the Battle of Culloden in 1746 and decides (again) to retire from the Game as much as possible.

1998-1999
Paris, France. MacLeod reunites with an old student, Keith Douglas, immortal parricide, who comes after Methos' head. MacLeod is forced to kill Keith and feels devastated that he was forced to kill a former student.
To celebrate his friend's 25th birthday, MacLeod takes Richie Ryan back to his roots in Glenfinnan where Richie falls for Rachel MacLeod, Duncan's cousin.

2000 : Paris, France. MacLeod fights and kills Avram ben Mordecai and Grayson's widow, Callestina.
2002 : Paris, France. MacLeod fights and kills madwoman Artemissia of Helicarnassos.
2009 : MacLeod briefly returns to Seattle to help his god-daughter, Mary Lindsey, who fell in the clutches of immortal predator Jason McKinney. MacLeod kills McKinney.
2010 : Alexandria, Egypt. MacLeod lives with new lover Ashur Badaktu, is killed in battle against Hasdrubal Skaras.

Thanks for the credit, my friend, you're too kind.
The Hellfire Club inspired me and i knew we couldn't have its members all with unrecorded origins and bland stats. They needed a story, especially the nemeses of the SIS, a history that makes them more than just average villains. Aldrich Monk needed to be a worthy adversary for Richeard of Mercia and what better backstory than former blood brothers - turned - enemies? They're always the best antagonists, right?

This day, I must close the Chronicle of my charge, the great poet Solomon ben Judah, who vanished two years ago in Damascus. For those past two years I have been relentlessly looking for him but to no avail. Solomon is missing, possibly killed facing one of the immortals living in Damascus circa 1851 : Farid al'Zafir, Iman Fasil, Isra of Algiers.
Solomon was an outstanding poet and writer in medieval Spain and was fortunate enought tot be mentored in poetry by Achilles of Troy himself who latter taught him swordsmanship when he was murdered by a jealous rival. During eight hundred years, Solomon illuminated the Middle East and Renaissance-era Europe with his poetry, how fortunate the mortals were to know such a poet ! And what greatness he gave to the world ! I live in the hope that Solomon didn't die against one of the Damascus immortals and that he is living peacefully somewhere away from the Game.

Solomon Ben Judah re-apeared in 1993 in Tunis, alive and well and was challenged to a duel in 1997 by Nural Al Habash, female player of the Game with a taste for male Quickenings. She savored it while the Quickening of her oppobnent burnt his library away. Two losses for the Immortal world : a good man and his extensive library.

In 1855, Jacob Bar Shebron killed an Israelite Immortal man whose identity remains unknown to us. The only two missing
Israelites on our lists are Judith of Bethulia and Na'amah of Ramah. It is our home none of those women were killed by the
Beta Israeli Ethiopian who was a hot-blooded character in the 19th century. Now a teacher, Jacob gives a message of
peace to the young generations in the hope the conflicts between peoples of the Levant will be toned down by diplomacy
and respect of other people’s beliefs. If he killed Na’amah then he may well have been impacted by her Quikcneing, in the
same way Darius was changed by the Quickening of the Holy Man of Paris

What can an incest and rape survivor do when it comes to heal traumatic wounds from one's childhood ? See a specialist, a psychologist. Like Sean burns who has been helping immortals victims of wars, rapes, murders and countless atrocities pepetrated upon them during or prior to their First Death. Like John Garrick, burnt to a stake four hundred years ago or Viola Blanco, raped from the tender age of five to fifteen years old by her great-uncle, her uncle and then her cousin to which she was bethroted.
At sixteen years old, Viola couldn't take it anymore and plainly jumped from a window. Her misery stopped there because her chaperone at that time was none other than Frankie Dummond, a firebrand of an immortal and fellow rape survivor who helped her back to her feet and told her why she wasn't in heaven beside God and little Jesus. After sojourning together in a convent near Murcia, away from Avila where she first died, Frances and Viola took revenge on the men who abused the poor innocent pre-iimmortal.
Then on a suggestion from her teacher, Cleophon of Athens, Frances sent Viola to Sean Burns for counselling - psychotherapy one century before it went in full bloom. Nowadays, Viola repays in kind the good Sean Burns and Frances did her by helping people who have been through the same hell as she has.
Owever, this isn't a woman to be underestimated : thanks to the teahcings of her mentor, Viola developped quite formidable weapons : an excellent swordarm, indomitable strenght of character and a great appetite for living her immortality to its full potential. In 155 years since her first fight against an immortal, she took out five evil immortals, all cutthoats, thieves and rapists who got a fittign end by Viola's Toledo rapier.
If there can be only one, Violan certainly will be among the last contestants of the Gathering.

Taking a pro-active stance in the war, Frances Drummond and her former student Viola Blanco hunted Timoteo of Lusitania and Joanna Vaz all across Iberia; Viola had been training like crazy since the beginning of the war and started to show the same gusto and cunning as the former Crimson Butterfly to the extant that Frances herself gave her the monisker of Iberian Butterfly. Proudly, Viola received a brand-new cup-hilted rapier from her former teacher before the two women started hunting. They found the two headhunters in Salamnca, where the two ancient immortals were processing the powerful Quickenings of Hipolito Cabral and Gilardo Melgajero; Frances felt confident she could take on Timoteo or Vaz but she wasn't too sure about Viola. However, Viola had been insistent on taking part in the war, not wanting to share the sad fate of the other Iberian immortals who chose to stay in hiding. A long time ago, she swore she would never hide again, and by God she would get a piece of the action ! Beside, she had other weapons than just mastery of the sword : a crafty psychologist, she knew she could see though her opponent's fighting techniques, a talent that helped her face other immortals time and time again.
Ten years after a war of terror was brought on American grounds, two butterflies brought terror to two agents of Memnet-Ra, coming after them in the middle of the night, yelling like furies and barely leaving their quarries the time to get out of bed and pick their swords. The fight was brutal. Frances brought her usual speed and agility while Viola paced more, carefully studying Vaz's swords move; when they were ready, both women took the offensive and utterly destroyed the immortal couple's confidence before finally taking them out. Frances and Viola's Watchers witnessed a rare occurence in the Game : a double Quickening shared by two immortals; it happened only with the Hauser Brothers, once with Frances and Henry of Kent, another time with Deoneces and Kyra of Sparta during the Horsemen Crisis and now.

If ever there was an example of never judging a book by it's cover it would be senora Frankie Drummond. Beneath the outward appearance of a small, pretty red-headed young woman lies a cunning, highly skilled fighter who has fooled all of the male headhunters who came for her Quickening expecting an easy kill, and instead gave her theirs. For Frankie is no victim. She was a helpless victim once when she was raped and brutalised by the dozen roundheads who slaughtered her family and burned her home to the ground. But once the newly reborn immortal was rescued from the embers by the Royalist Cavalry officer who revealed himself as Cleophon of Athens and taught her about her new destiny and the Game, she vowed to never be a victim again. She had to be in control, all the time.
She learned what she could about swordplay from Cleophon, himself a master, but she wanted to know more. So she went east where the old masters still taught the ancient martial forms. She learned them all, mastered them all. She became better than her old teacher and when the first immortal came for her head, she got her first Quickening.
Frankie isn't just a very good player in the Game, she has also learned to make the most of her immortality; she has a voracious sexual appetite. Man or woman, it doesn't matter to her. And they are all drawn to her like moths to a flame. She has only to flutter those doe eyes and smile that smile and they are all putty in her hands.
Watcher records recall her seduction of the wife of a Prussian nobleman in the eighteenth century to expose his murder of his first wife. Another incident is recorded in France a few years later, where Frankie slept with both the daughter and son of a Count as part of a plot to uncover his illegal activities as a smuggler.
And in the US Midwest in the 20s, she had a fling with Corey Raines before running off with a mobster's girlfriend. They fled to the east coast and became the Thelma and Louise of the 1920s as they robbed a string of mob establishments and gave the proceeds to people left destitute during the Great Depression. Her sexual exploits with the ex-pat wives of army officers in Singapore before the Japanese invasion during World War II are legendary.

By the end of the 1990’s, she was contacted by her old teacher Cleophon, now going by the name Elliott Ravenwood. She is now his chief field agent in Northern Europe, based in Madrid, and is back to her old tricks. She has a wealthy girlfriend in the city's suburbs and a playboy lover in Monte Carlo. They both seem to know about each other and don't seem to care. Frankie has that effect on people.

That's why she will never be just an ordinary player of the Game.

After burying her student in Venice, Frances Drummond started hunting Ayzebel of Berytus but didn't have to look for long : the old immortal was expecting Fortunato's teacher and rejoiced at the idea of taking out the fabled 'Crimson Butterfly' rumored to have killed as many immortals as the Kurgan himself.
(Watcher note : Frances killed 25; however, six more kills were falsely attributed to her, especially the Poison Clan immortals).
The battle between Frances and Ayzebel was vigorous, the redhead combined six different fighting techniques against her opponent who proved to be a proficient andcunning player; each time counteracting France's moves. Ayzebel laughed while she danced around the Butterfly; 'they didn't call me the Dragonfly of Carthago for nothing, sweetheart ! Dance, dance with me !‘ Then, in the middle of the fight, Ayzebel simply unsheated her sword and took her leave, boasting that luring the Butterfly to Italy had been easy; 'see who protected those under you carge while we fought !' And then she was gone. Indeed, while Frances was busy looking for Cortesi's killer, two other immortals lost their lives theday before.

Daria De Souza decided it was time to take down Ravenwood's operations in Iberia. And what better way to do this than take on Frances Drummond herself ? The Crimson Butterfly wasn't afraid, she killed nearly forty immortals in her life and De Souza wasn't even a prolific headhunter, just a woman who used the Game for her own purposes.The battle between the two women was a furious exhibition of raw power, a mix of rage from De Souza and nearly-orgasmic pleasure from the Butterfly who ENJOYS fighting other immortals and takes as much pleasure from her battles as Xavier St. Cloud himself - Moroccan king of hedonism that he was. Mere minutes later, the battle was done : Daria De Souza was on her knees, her eyes a mix of pain (right forearm lost in battle, sliced stomach) and anger. Then her eyes expressed nothing : her head fell to the ground. The Quickening was a medium one, but Frankie Drummond enjoyed it.

It's not very hard to imagine that Harry Houdini, the fabled magician who used to get out of impossible odds on stage, could be an immortal. Could live forever and get out of even more frightning odds like a two-tons enraged immortal coming at him (Sigurd Jarlson). As a boy his name was Erich Weiss and his father wanted him to become a locksmith. But he ran away and joined the traveling show of Dr. Grimaldi, where he learned the tricks of a magician and a little mystery from his Indian assistant, a mysterious woman named Sita who always seemed to know something was up about the boy. Houdini died of peritonitis, resulting from appendicitis, after one of his stage performances. But a good man like Harry always get lucky, even in dire situations. He had his friend Duncan MacLeod to teach him the rules of the Game and the proper ways of living his immortality. Sita, was also here for him, an immortal who taught him to defeat an opponent without having to use a sword.

Every magician in the world dreams of becoming another Houdini, but Houdini dreams secretly of being like every magician in the world : a simple mortal with a wife and children. There are just two passions he has known in his life: the art of magic, and his mortal wife, now tragically deceased. He views his immortal nature as a cheat, a shortcut which cheapens the thrills of his art. Because she aged and he did not, his wife's eventual death left him alone and bereaved.
Because of his highly publicized First Death, he was never able to live with her, even in secrecy; the only time he could even set eyes upon her was during seances, in which he would appear disguised as his own ghost. The magician faking his appearances rather than his disappearances. These circumstances poisoned Houdini's immortal existence. Though he fights to escape death, inwardly he dreams of the day a stronger immortal will beat down his guard and take his head - sending him at last to join his wife in the afterlife.

The immortal known as Esteban the Moor has been confirmed as active on the immortal roster under the identity of Esteban Vihaio, chef-restorator and responsible of preserving the Alhambra fortress in Granada. The Alhambra is an historical and architectural treasure, and alwo the past centerpoint of Spanish history since the 9th Century.

Estevanico (c. 1500–1539), born in Morocco, was the first known person born in Africa to have arrived in the present-day continental United States. He is known by many different names, common are Esteban de Dorantes, Estebanico and Esteban the Moor. Enslaved as a youth by the Portuguese, he was sold to a Spanish nobleman and taken in 1527 on the Spanish Narváez expedition. He was one of four survivors among the 600 men who started, and traveled for eight years with Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, Andrés Dorantes de Carranza, and Alonso del Castillo Maldonado across northern New Spain (present-day U.S. Southwest and northern Mexico), before they reached Spanish forces in Mexico City in 1536.
Later Estevanico served as the main guide for a return expedition to the Southwest, where he was killed in the Zuni city of Hawikuh in 1539.

The new immortal became the servant of immortal Ali Ibn al-Quattan, himself a Moorish immortal who soon fred him and then mentored him but never could infect him with his passion for hte Game.Estevanico preferred his role of scholar and traveller above all things. In the beginnign of the 18th century he retired from adventuring and settled in St. Augustine, Florida, part of New Spain where he disappeared after his Watcher was killed fighting English troops during Queen Ann's War.

Bonafemina is one of the few living handicapped immortals who have been living through the centuries relying on pepper spray and smarts to survive. She is good at hiding, living in peace and not caring about the Prize or about the Gathering. Bonafemina first appeared on the immortal scene in 1826, in Capri where she was living as a dance teacher; she was mentored by Lombard immortal Rodelinda who taught her how to use her intelligence in the Game - although Bonafemina would hear none of this Game nonsense. She has been living retired from other immortals, teaching the arts of dancing to generations of young mortals. When a challenger comes for Bonafemina's head she always has a gun and a can of pepper spray in her bag. Pepper to blind the opponent, two bullets to lop the head off the impudent's shoulders. In spite of her bad leg, she proved to the immortal world that one can survive in spite of physical impairment - something on which Kenneth and Keith Boyer would agree.

When Swenja and Lootje found the dead body of Marie-Louise in a back-alley near their Parisian home, they knew a new immortal would be born soon. When the young woman awoke in their home, cleaned and sleeping in their bed, she had Swenja and Lootje beside her, who told her wild stories of living forever and staying young forever and always. Disbelieving, Marie-Louise was forced to accept the truth and learnt to stop worrying and love the life her teachers would give to her.

While Swenja the thrillseeker and killer had no maternal bone in her body and couldn't care less about the ever-growing population of young immortals, her heart melt when Marie-Louise introduced herself : she bore the same name as her teacher ! Here was a woman she couldn't decently leave in this world on her own, what would her mentor say, is she was living ? So Swenja and Lootje taught the rules of immortality to Marie-Louise as they did to Corelio of Brazil and infected her with their love of immortality, their appreciation of a Quickening and their philosophy of taking what you want and never suffer from the consequences.They also taught her their trade : forging. And soon Marie-Louise became a master herself and was so good at her craft that she made Swenja and Lootje wild with pride each time she'd sell of of her fakes to a gallery in Paris or around Paris.
In 1834, Swenja and Lootje got in trouble with a local immortal woman to whom they sold some of her fakes and were forced to kill her (Watcher note : cross-check Monique Cassard, WD France). Marie-Louise who witnessed the Quickening received by Lootje was amazed by such a spectacular sight and by the mix of pleasure and pain that came with the thunder and lightnings. In seven years, the three women had become a kind of 'ménage à trois', sharing the men they seduced and having parties that became the stuff of legend in Paris : every Satuday nights, a six-way in the home of Swenja and Lootje, three men and three women blending together. Marie-Louise had tasted blood, she wanted more, and more, and more.

In 1836, Swenja and Lootje finally decided they had enough of Paris and of forgery and decided to leave. They also gave their goodbyes to a tearful Marie-Louise who didn't understand why her friends would abandon her; but she had to learn to live on her own and beside, Swenja and Lootje's relationship was exclusive : they didn't mind to have a student here and now but the ménage à trois couldn't go on forever.

In 1835, Gabriel Piton turned a beaten, shell of a woman selling her body on the streets into a socialite and expert at worming her way into rich men's bed to scope out their valuables and political sympathis, thus seving hte mabitions of her master Gabriel. Gabriel had more on his mind than being a master theif all his life : he also wanted to be a 'Prince of the Universe' like the fabled Karmanshar and his wife, Tomyris, like Andre Korda and Grayson; he wanted to be respected, to have the world on a string. What better way to achieve this goal than to take on students, fragile young women who would do his bidding ? Lucilla Begnini did so for fifteen years until Gabriel felt she had given everything she could, created enough political allies for Gabriel and filled enough of his mansions with stolen jewels and paintings.
When Gabriel decided to part withher, he gave her a few bank-notes, a jewel from his collection and sent her on her way. The bitter Lucilla understood she had been manipulated and turned on her master, who nearly killed her.. but spapred her anyway.
Two months later, Lucilla was in Rome, burglarising the house of a wealthy socialite of Rome who came home early the night Lucilla had chosen to invade his home; the immortal was Victor Meirelles, an Argentine headhunter who didn't let Lucilla the time to run and took her head in mere minutes. The poor woman didn't beg for mercy : she bared her teeth, drew her sword and readied herself for the fight, never losing her dignity.

They were back at it last night, six-hours long of lovemaking when us poor mortals last barely twenty minutes. I am admirative. Ever since that decapitation scare in 1996, Gina is even more committed to her husband, as is Robert to her. While the two immortals have few reported kills to their scorecards, us Watchers well imagine they can look after themselves in the Game : Gina always had one protector or another with Quattrocchi, MacLeod or Fitzcairn, and now Robert, but she knows how to use a sword and went after poor Methos like a fury when he jokingly threatened the life of her husband.
Robert, while not a player of the Game, is no cheese either and can defend himself, hs wife and his castle.
After three hundred years together, they are a shining example of a couple of immortals able to survive the perils of the Game wihtout having the demonstrate any killer instinct.

Found and raised by the village wise woman, Agathe was always on the fringe of society and was not afraid to challenge authority. When the Black Death came to Avignon the terrified people looked for some way to stop the disease that was ravaging their town. And they looked to those outsiders as the source for their misery. Agathe and Minette (her mother) were thrown in to the river; if they floated they were innocent if they sank they were witches. Well, both sank like a stone and drowned. That night Kyra, who had kept an eye on Agathe since she was a little girl, helped her out of the river and together they buried Minette.
But Agathe never forgot the lessons of courage and independence that Minette taught her, and those lessons were also strengthened by having Kyra as her teacher. Those qualities are quite apparent when you see her interviewing a politician or chasing after some other to get a story.

But these same qualities that make her successful in journalism and a formidable swordswoman, are also the same things that seem to make her love life so contentious. Past chroniclers have noted (and the male ones seems to have disapproved of) that her relationships with lovers mortal and immortal are often fiery and confrontational. Charles of Strasbourg described her as a “consort battleship” and said that it took a man of extraordinary strength and endurance to withstand the woman, but if he could he would find her magnificent.

An early victim of Evangeline Black in the 10th century, Breogan was a former soldier and sword-for-hire who grew tired of the constant bloodshed as other Immortals often have and retired from the Game, finding peace in the small coastal fishing village of Brixham. Unfortunately, in 981 Evangeline Black was at this time commanding a Viking longship using the name Elfrida the Black Wolf and raiding English coastal settlements. One of these raids fell upon Brixham and Breogan found himself once again wielding a sword, this time on defence of his solitude and the people, ordinary mortals, he had come to call his friends. However, his own rustiness and Elfrida's ferociousness and cunning were not enough and he soon fell to her blade.

In 991, Richeard of Mercia sent his student and friend, Alfgar of Winchester, to Normandy to spy on Duke Richard I of Normandy following his treaty with King Aethelfrid of England, suspicious of the duke's motives. A year after he arrived, Alfgar had developed a crush on the daughter of a local lord but feared rejection from her father. When a new suitor appeared, Alfgar grew suspicious and soon discovered he was another Immortal. Claiming to be a wealthy merchant, Amelrik of Bibrax charmed Lord Belcour and his daughter Marie and within a few months an engagement was announced. But Alfgar knew the game Amelrik was playing and warned the Immortal the walk away. Amelrik, although he was armed, was not a skilled swordsman, preferring to rely on his wits and trickery to avoid others of his kind. But Alfgar proved to be more than a match for the conman, trapping him in an alleyway and quickly dispatching Amelrik. Neither Lord Belcour, nor his daughter ever knew what became of her fiancée.

Sanjiv Gupta came after him after an army of mercenaries, took out his guards and finally sliced his sword though the neck of the Immortal guru among the bodies of his more recent victims. Certainly a grizzly sight and from which Gupta will need to recover. 129 victims once the bodycount was done by the officials.

Ibn Al Talia of Yarkash is the Immortal who found the origins of Asvattha of Kabul Shahi, an Indian woman born in Afghanistan in the 10th century and was known as a holy woman living on Holy Grounds unaware of her own Immortality. She lived an a neveraging miracle worker, passing herself as a half-Goddess, healign hte sick and infirm of mind, helping the poor and suffering and relying on strong men to protect her from agressive people, swords in hands, who pretended ot harm her. None of those people could challenge her directly and she could never fathom why they would want to take her head. It was Ibn Al Talia who explained the facts of life to her. She diasppeared in 1339 but is expected to still life in the mountains of Kashmir (present Pakistan) where she made her home.

In 1955 Michael Moore sought respite from the Game and from a life of torments caused by the evild oings of serial kiler Quentin Barnes, his nemesis. Not aware he was a split personality and that Barnes was his alter-ego, Moore brought Barnes with him in Calcutta were he lived a doctor in the slum of Calcutta, in a place named ‘the city of joy’. There the good doctor met three Indian immortal childrne living on the streets wich whom he bonded and developped a friendship. The three children were close associates of Immortal Sanjiv Gupta who once helped them when they ran in tyrouble with Immortal Kamir who wanted to offer them in sacrifice to Kali, goddess of war and death. Gupta itnerfered and the three children were saved.
At least, that’s the story they told Michael Moore. Unlike Western Immortal children like Kenneth or the Von Arlon, they are not distrustful of adult-sized Immortals and are able to bond with any of their kind who shows no aggressive intents. They were truly a pleasure to watch, but Moore’s Watcher wrote how he shuddered at the idea of Moore reverting to his Barnes’ alter-ego, becoming a mosnter and thus betrying his new friends. In 1958 Barnes was back, raping and murdering several women of the city of joy and the childrne soon found out the dark secret of Michael Moore : his evil nemesis was himself.
Barnes hunted the childrne who soon disappeared from his sight, never to be seen again. We suppose they are still living somewhere since no proof was made of their death.

Kismet Necdet, aka Volkan Sabkiik, as ben identified as the Immortal who took out Njeza of Qabalia at the battle of Dandanagan in1040. Necdet made a name for himself as an Immortal who took out Immortal women in the Game, and not holy women or farmers : exclusively warrior women whom he thougt were worthy of his challenge and his utmost repect for the pain they take at being fit to compete with their male counterparts in the Game. A truly strange individual that one, but an Immortal bearing the name of Kismet “fate” is bound to believe in the Game and he truly felt an Immortal woman would take him ot of the Game someday. That day happened in 1731 when he challenged Mihrimah Pamuk the mameluke and was soundly defeated by a woman he loved to death.

Morello of Potentia is the first recorded victim of Evangeline Black, who at the time was known by her birthname of Elfrida of York. Eager to taste her first Quickening after 19 years of immortality, Ailef, her teacher (the infamous Aldrich Monk), knew of an Immortal serving in the army of Northumbria who would be perfect prey, despite both of them being in service at this time to Eadwig, King of England and Northumbria. Elfrida would prove her deviousness when it came to outwitting other Immortals, seducing the smitten Morello at an inn on the outskirts of Winchester. After a night of bed-breaking fornication, Elfrida stabbed Morello in the heart and then took his head with his own sword. The Quickening set the inn ablaze but Elfrida fled the inferno, laughing.

Reporting the first known battle and subsequent victory of Immortal Ikechukwu against an Immortal affiliatd to Boko Haram who was likely involved in the massacre of Ikechukwu’s village in 2015 since Ike seemed to recognize the man instantly and followed him around, with his band of thieves and beggars spinning a death web around the Immortal. The man was finally cornered and faced the teenaged Immortal who wasbn’t afraid to fight a 6 feet tall killer armed to the teeth. The fight was a furious one, like a mongoose fighting a royal cobra and Ikechukwu through a combination of luck and skills prevailed. The Quickening he savored solidified his unquestioned leadership of the Lagos street youths who know look at Ike in awe, viewing him like a kind of super-hero.

I'm glad you're beginning to despise Aldrich Monk, that's what i want. The Hellfire Club are the polar opposite of the SIS and although the SIS have done questionable things down the centuries to further Richeard of Mercia's goals, there is also a line they do not cross; killing innocent Immortals is one of them. Aldrich and his ilk have no such compunction. Even though Evangeline has differing views to Aldrich, she is still the Black Queen for a very good reason, as you will find out. And you know Saegar Lightfingers is just a blunt instrument wielded by Aldrich, he has no moral centre either.

BTW Nice touch with the Swords of Allah wiping out the Islam Immortals prior to their rampage that brought them into the crosshairs of Deoneces and Kyra of Sparta.

One of the youngest female victims of Aldrich Monk's early killing spree, Sorcha had survived, mostly alone, for over two hundred years, relying on her wits and cunning, heeding the lessons of her teacher, who taught her to use her small stature and feminine wiles to outsmart those who would come for her head. Preferring her own company, she survived by stealing and occasionally selling her body for food and a roof over her head, never staying in one place too long, that way she avoided the headhunters her teacher warned her about. Then in 931, the infamous Aldrich Monk, then known by his birthname, Ailef of Deira, came to Scotland and the court of Constantine II. Word soon reached him of an elusive girl thief who had survived fatal arrow hits and deadly falls from rooftops, so he set out to hunt her down. Unfortunately for Sorcha, she couldn't outwit the even more cunning and ruthless Ailef who soon tracked her down. Although she put up a spirited fight, she was really no match for the older Immortal.

Another easy victim of Ailef of Deira's misogyny. Willa was trained to use a sword by her teacher, but a near-death encounter with another Immortal in 772 saw her discard her sword and abandon the "madness" of the Game. Since then, she avoided other Immortals as much as possible. The encounter of Jason Samaris and Olympe Dimitrakos with the band of roving headhunting migrant children who have been active since the beginning of the migrant crisis ended with the two Immortals taking out the band’s ringleaders, two Middle Eastern Immortals using the children as pawns in the Game as they have been doing for centuries.
Now the children are free to go where they please. Jason and Olympe decided to train the kids themselves adopting them as their own little family, but those are not innocent children anymore, they had a taste of the Quickening and a strange hunger animate them. A hunger for more. It will take a lot of work and efforts from the Greek couple to curb the pack’s violent tendencies, lest they become as dangerous players of the Game as the Coyoteros of Mexico.

Born in China, she has spent little time there; inspired by her teacher's tales of the wider world, Lang Quing has lived in most of the big cities in her three centuries on this earth: London, Paris, Madrid, Rome, New York. These days, it is San Francisco's Chinatown, as owner of Wendy Lee's Arts & Crafts, where she indulges her passion for art, in particular, her expertise at painting landscapes of most of the places she has seen. Don't let her small frame and beauty fool you, for Lang Quing is a well-trained student of one of the greatest swords of the Immortal world: Henry of Kent, grandmaster of headhunter-slayers. And like her teacher and mentor, the Little Dragon has slain a few headhunters in her time and i'm sure if any others cross her path, they will meet the same fate.

From the Chronicle of Lang Quing

Lang Quing was in tears when Henry of Kent announced her the demise of Guo Jing at the sword of Frank Bascombr. An immortal of unknown origins, Guo was barely a bleep on Watcher scope; never playing the Game, seldom meeting other imortals and living in obscurity until she was found and killed by Bascombe.
She was an opportunity for a kill, as far as the Boer was concerned, but to Lang she was a good friend, albeit a poor student in swordmanship. Henry of Kent offered Kang to track down Bascombe but she would hear none of it : she wanted to nail the bastard herself, as she put it. Henry gave her the coordinates of the killer and acompanied her to the airport, giving her moral strenght. Two days later, after scoping out Cincinnati, Lang found Bascombe and challenged him to a fair fight. Bascombe never played fair, but Lang saw through his tricks and easly overpowered the arrogant Boer who fell to his knees, muttering 'finish it, Chinese whore'. 'The whore has a name, it's Lang Quing !' she yelled before sending Bascombe's rotten soul to the deepest pits of hell. Guop Jing was avenged and another headhunter has been removed from the active roster of immortals.

One year after the Immortals War, after the dust has cleared and the dramatic takeover of the Watchers by Ravenwood, a census was made on the current population of immortals, worldwde, made of active immortals and inactive immortals (read : living on Holy Grounds).

Ireland always had a complicated history with its northern portion being part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ulster while the southern portion is part of Western Europe. It was decided to give it a particular status in the Northern part of Europe. Ever since the death of Annie Devlin, the Irish immortals have been livign in relative peace and now that the Immortals War is over, they no longer need to be afraid of the coming Gathering. Rasheed Awuja and Dela-O-Kande Umaru moved out of New-York to join hte Nigerian community of Dublin. Paddy Bell, a young immortal, is a webmaster; political satirist, film-maker, having founded the Laughing Horse Productions. Etain fo the Second Look is in Belfast. Lang Quing left San Francisco and settled in Dublin where Father Liam Riley also lives, bringing modern views of the world to the Catholic youth. Seamus of Athlone rea-appared in Limerick.

Dear Sir,

This morning, Etain of the Second Look rose up early and did her morning routine before freezing like a deerr caught in headlight, looking like she sensed the presence of another Immortal. She then quickly took her shoes, her purse and jumped out of her window before her flat suddenly exploded. Investigation by the firemen later concluded to a gaz leak.
Etain rushed to the nearest store for clothing and vanishedl, losing me in the crowd. I lost her trace, but I suppose she took the first train at the station, looking like she was running from something... or someone.
Did her clairvoyance abilities warn her of a gaz leak in her flat, or of the presence of a headhunter ?
I hooked on the Watchers Grapevine to find out about any headhunters in town, but there were none.
Etain took a Greyhound for New-York, trying apparently to put as much distance between herself and Ohio as possible. I do not know what went through her head, but I cannot follow her : my baby is due next week, not the right time for my Immortal to grow legs.

The Celtic tradition has been an oral one. Poems, songs, stories were not written down but told from father to son, and Teacher to student. Seamus is a walking repository of Celtic music and stories. I shudder to think of all that would be lost if he ever loses his head.
I pray every day that he will begin to set down all that he knows. But that seems as likely as the ocean turning purple.
Right now the man is completely smitten with Linnett’s new receptionist Moira. Maureen Butler, my boss and Seamus’s former watcher, told me she was able to get many fine stories by buying him a pint or two and showing a bit of leg. When I said I don’t think that would work in my case, she said a real Watcher would do whatever was necessary to fulfill his oath.
At first I thought she was joking but when she showed up a week later at my apartment with a wig and a dress I was not laughing. I told her she was absolutely daft that there is no way the man would think I was a woman!
But she said that by 10 pm the man is so blind drunk that he can barely recognize himself in the mirror.
Well at 10 sharp I entered the pub all tarted up, Thank God no one recognized me, and sat a seat down from him. I no sooner had set my fanny on the stool when he started to chat me up. We talked for about 2 hours and I got some real good stories about the court of Brian Boru and he recited some love poetry in Gaelic. I had a tape recorder in my purse so I got down every word. It wasn’t till the end that he started getting grabby but I managed to hold him off. Maureen says that I did way better than she ever had and she has my outfit all picked out for next week.

Mortal ones. Evil must be punished at all cost.' Ceirdwyn left Hammer on his own, wishing him luck. But reminded Hammer to not harm any other innocent immortals in Scandinavia, or she would have to take actions against him. To which Hammer laughed 'no immortal is innocent !'

The Watcher Chronicle of Genna Jorgensen shows a Scandinavian woman best knows for spending her immortality in public libraries, conventes, monasteries and classrooms rather than on battelfields, playing the Game and killing those of her kinds. 'The pen is sharper than the sword' hasd been her motto for seven hundred years. A mouse hiding behind wall.
However, to our surprise, extended research tend to prove that the deaths of a number of immortals originally attributed to Alex Raven, Katherine of Samothrace and Betsy Mitchell were actually her own kills. Three other missing immortals from the Scandinavian databases were found to have been killed by Genna. The shy mouse did have teeth after all.

The Vikings, like other sea-rovers, are not as romantic as nineteenth-century fiction would make them out to be; neither are they exclusively the blood-thirsty ravishers depicted in the chronicles of the monks of England and Ireland. They may not have worn horned helmets,
but they did sail ships carved with dragons' heads and they ventured far out into the western sea in search of new lands and adventure. In about 1000 AD, Leif Eriksson (son of Erik the Red) explored the new continent, acompanied by immortals Ejnar Kanwulfsson and Sygin Fenrisdottir, the latter being later cross-referenced as Kellistra, student of the fabled Four Horsemen. For the next ten years a number of voyages were made from Greenland to the new land, which the Norselmen called "Vinland" because of the profusion of grapes that grew there. Sygin and Kanwulf settled there and created a colony that flourished, adopted several orphaned Viking children they named after Gods of Norse mythology : Eir, Freya, Thor, Heimdall, Kvasir and Balder.
More than one century went on before the prophecy of six immortal Vikings born from Vinland would come true. Kanwulf and Sygin's clan enlarged itself and then came the time for her brethen to leave the paradise for a much harsher world. The six children she adopted and who all turned out to be immortals spent decades discovering the North-Amercian continent before
leaving for the land of their ancestors toward the beginning of the 12th century.
The Vinland immortals had originally decided to stay in the New World when their mortal comrades all returned to Greenland and Iceland because they were disgusted when the Vikings converted to Christianity. This happened just before the year 1000 AD and created much controversy. What happened is, some of the Vikings had converted; most had not; then some of them appealed for judgement to a highly respected thane, and he mulled over the question for about a year and then announced that the entire Viking nation ought to convert en masse. His opinion had the force of law and the pagan Vikings, much to their disgust, were obliged
to comply. This legal judgement led ultimately to the conversion of all Norsemen to Christianity . The Six of Vinland, though, rejected the whole business and washed their hands of their brethren in disgust. They still protect each other and each other's families and each New Year's eve they gather with their families and immortal students to remember legends of times past when all of them were heroes.

Following, are reports on each of the Six of Vinland, who were first identified in London during the infamous Hunt for Jack the Ripper (File#57458-1899).

Eir : in mythology, Goddess of healing
Eir ("help" or "mercy" in Old Norse) is, in Norse mythology, a goddess of the Æsir who is called 'best of physicians' in the Edda. Eir is also counted among the Valkyries, connecting her to the ability to 'choose the slain' and awaken the dead. As a master physician, Eir is a patroness of health-care workers. She is called upon by modern Healers not only for physical healing, but also for mental, emotional and spiritual healing. It is said that Eir would bestow healing upon all women who sought her out, and she taught only women her secret arts. Accordingly, only women could learn the art of healing in
Scandinavia.

Eir Kanwulfdottir, true to her namesake, has been a healer and doctor for the past thousand years, recorded since 1889 as a succesful doctor and physiotherapist in Copenhagen in recent times. Known for her kindness and the quotes from movies she puts at every turn of a conversation, she is known for her joie de vivre and her qualities of heart. But gentle Eir has her bite too and more than one missing immortal from our chronicles may have fallen to Eir’s sword.

The Vinland immortals had originally decided to stay in the New World when their mortal comrades all returned to Greenland and Iceland because they were disgusted when the Vikings converted to Christianity. This happened just before the year 1000 AD and created much controversy. What happened is, some of the Vikings had converted; most had not; then some of them appealed for judgement to a highly respected thane, and he mulled over the question for about a year and then announced that the entire Viking nation ought to convert en masse. His opinion had the force of law and the pagan Vikings, much to their disgust, were obliged
to comply. This legal judgement led ultimately to the conversion of all Norsemen to Christianity . The Six of Vinland, though, rejected the whole business and washed their hands of their brethren in disgust. They still protect each other and each other's families and each New Year's eve they gather with their families and immortal students to remember legends of times past when all of them were heroes.

Following, are reports on each of the Six of Vinland, who were first identified in London during the infamous Hunt for Jack the Ripper (File#57458-1899).

Freya : in mythology, Goddess of fertility, wealth, love, beauty, magic, prophecy, war, battle, and death
While there are some sources suggesting that Freyja was called on to bring fruitfulness to fields or wombs, in the Eddas, she was portrayed as a goddess of love, beauty, and fertility. Freyja is described as the fairest of all goddesses, and people prayed to her for happiness in love. Freyja was also associated with war, battle, death, magic, prophecy, and wealth. She is cited as receiving half of the dead lost in battle in her hall Fólkvangr, whereas Odin would receive the other half at Valhalla.
In Heimskringla, Freyja is also presented as a mythological Princess of Sweden. Her father Njörðr is seen as the second mythological King of Sweden, and her brother Freyr is the third. Freyr and Freyja's mother is Njörðr's sister (who is has been often linked to the
ancient Germanic goddess Nerthus, as it is a custom of the Vanir and allowed by their laws.

A doctor and artist like her sister (Eir is a potter, she is a painter), Freya is a succesful midwife, well-liked by the mortal community. Once a fearsome headhuntress and hired killer, Freya laid down her sword when she saw the carnage mankind inflicted upon itself : two world wars took a toll on her blood lust and she decided to work for the common good. What made her change her mind is seeing the 50 million native americans massacred on the North American continent over four centuries by the Spanish, the Portugese, the English, adding to this the slaves imported from the African continent. After conversations with her brothers and sister, she finally changed her ways and tried to heal the poor and suffering she met.

The nuns in this place call Kati 'the child of God', the 'miracle child', because she hasn't been agin the the past fifteen years since she settled with them. She already proved them that she didn't need any scolding or being treated like a child; they realised an adult was locked in the body of a twelve years old.
She told her friends that there were more like her, beings who never age, of all physical appearance and that someday, one would come after her with a sword. Although accepting her stories as the wild fantasies of a self-deluded child, the nuns have decided to offer her protection and have been checking any person coming to the church with a long coat, menacing demeanor and a sword in his or her had.
It is a rare thing to see such level of integration for an immortal. Miracles do happen, sometimes.

She had such fire in her, for over fifteen hundred years.
But I think that when her Nicolas died in 1998, the passion that had kept Katherine Sutherland afire for so long guttered to the barest spark. Ekaterini and Nick Sutherland were very different in personality but at the same time just right for each other : the warrior from Samothrace and the Chicago cop, one full of energy and thirst for battle, the other passionate and collected. Ekaterini loved the sound of battles, Nick longed for the family immortality couldn't give him. When they decided to have a child together, they knew the risk that could come with it.
Alas, she traded the father for the son. Nick died within days of his son's birth. And poor Katie . . . her Nick was dead, her world was dead. And yet she found the strength to love her baby, though he must have reminded her of nothing but loss. The rest of us tried to help - Ceirdwyn was there and stayed with Katie for months after - but to no avail. K also visited, but Katie knows how badly K and I get along and won't give me any details of her comings and goings, damn her. Katie's been hiding on holy ground ever since, anyway. A strange fate for warlike Ekaterini - skulking in a Californian wicca shrine, mourning her Nick, living in the past. Raising the child as best as she could, yes. And a shrine's a good place for a child to spend his infancy, to be sure. Traditional. But an unhealthy way for Katie - of all the people! - to stick her head in the sand. Too many accidents happen when we have our guard down. Holy ground isn't that safe anymore.
Then bin Laden blew up the the WTC (may the Eurynides chew his entrails for one thousand years !) The tragedy must have hit Katie where she lived. She says she packed a first-aid kit, dug out her paramedic license, got out of her shrine and went on a 12-hour cross-country drive to New York. Couldn't help herself. She spent two weeks at Ground Zero digging, and now she's snapped out of it, good girl - she resettled in New York and got back in the Game.
Adam is now three years old, a beautiful healthy little boy who looks exactly like Nick and already show the wits and vitality of both his mother and father.
God, I love children.
It amuses me to write this small addendum to the Ekaterini Chronicles. The Watchers will never read it, of course, or know the story they cannot read between the lines. They don't even know there's another story than theirs . . . though some of them may suspect. Never mind. I'll have my little joke and they'll keep getting it wrong - and that, of course, is the way I want it to be.
But I take young Adam's name as a personal compliment.

That old house of his in on the outskirts of Cornwall has been under construction for he last 800 years. It has to be the longest Do-It- Yourself in history. No sooner has he finished one building project is complete, he is already planning the next. Or thinking about the renovations on a building he has just completed. Nothing brings him as much joy and excitement as building. He never ceases, always excited to try new variations of designs and styles or incorporate new techniques or materials.
And all his buildings are like his babies, for example St. Paul’s Cathedral, he was involved in the construction of all five of the incarnations of the building. He designed the fourth St. Paul’s under William the Conqueror that was destroyed in the Great Fire. But when he heard that they were going to rebuild he couldn’t help himself, he managed to get hired on as an assistant to Christopher Wren.

For nearly five centuries, Hilaria Quintero, known as The Harlequin, made her reputation among those Immortals who exist in the grey area that straddles light and dark, although Quintero was considered more dark than light; her bouts of psychosis often leading to murder or mayhem, satisfying a craving nurtured by her mentor and lover, Coronus of Persia, who exploited her trauma after her painful
First Death to mould her into a dark image of himself. She made use of the skills she learned over the centuries to carve out a career as a "fixer" and clashed often with those Immortals, mostly female, in a similar line of work. Away from her career, Hilaria relaxed by satisfying her sexual need to "break-in" young teenage boys. If she couldn't seduce them, she would pay those who offered such services to provide her with one of "her boys.“ Her first encounter with one of the students of Cleophon of Athens almost saw her lose her head, when she clashed with Frankie Drummond in San Francisco in 1934 while on an assignment to kill a friend of the Crimson Butterfly. The Harlequin barely escaped alive.

On March 19th 1755, there was a snowslide in the Piedmont near the town of Demonte in the Stura valley. All inhabitants were indoors at this time except for one Joseph Rochia and his young son. Rochia snatched up the boy and fled ... then fell fainting, as his house and his neighbor's house vanished completely under the snow, burying 22 persons altogether. Among them were Joseph's wife, and his two sisters-in-law. Five days later, Rochia went out with his son and two of his brothers; they tried to determine where, under the snow, was the site of his house. By the 24th of April he had still not found even his house, let alone his loved ones; on that evening, finally, he gave up.

His wife's mother (a gypsy woman named Kudra Ivanova, with the reputation of being somewhat of a witch) dreamed that night that her daughters lived, and were calling for her help. The next day she sent her husband out, to persuade Rochia to go on and join him at his work. Guided by the goodwife's dream, they found the house and gained entrance, only to discover the whole building empty. Hearing a voice faintly calling, they began searching for the stable which was not far from the house, and in it they discovered Rochia's wife, Mariotta, and his wife' sisters, Emily and Juliet, who had been buried under the snow for five weeks altogether. All those others trapped with them, had sickened and died, and the women said they had almost perished of the cold-dripping of snow-water down upon them, as they lay entombed under the snowslide.

The Rochia women returned with Joseph to Demonte and stayed with him, living contentedly in their isolated alpine valley. Their survival was a local legend, but nothing more . . . until Joseph, his friends and neighborhood noticed a strange thing: young Juliet didn't seem to be growing up. Her girlhood friends married and began their own families, but not the little girl. She remained the same. The legend grew. Joseph and Mariotta Rochia took to keeping Juliet out of sight, and eventually the rumors faded; then fresh rumors started, for the people around noticed now that Emily and Mariotta remained as youthful as they had before the avalanche.

And yet almost ten years had already passed, and peasant women age quickly in the harsh mountain climate. Joseph grew grey-haired and wrinkled. With every passing year, his women drew more notice. Finally he was forced to take them and settle in Switzerland where they lived as farmers for almost a decade.

By then they had come to the attention of the Watchers, and were under surveillance. Joseph called his wife "daughter" and invented a tale of a dead son-in-law, little Juliet's father. Still more years passed. Joseph called himself Juliet's great-grandfather, and then her great-great-grandfather. The family moved from town to town. At long last, Joseph died - he was then more than a hundred years old, but his womenfolk were still the rosy-cheeked youthful creatures they had been before the avalanche. They buried him, changed their names . . and the three immortals began to wander in earnest.

Virgil was known as "Virgil the Magician" in Europe through the Dark Ages, as a magician and poet. He met his first death one century after the birth of Christ and was taken in by legendary Cassandra who taught him to survive by his witts and intelligence and to use persuasion as means to defeat opponents in the Game.
Virgil settled in Gloucestershire during the 13th century where he mentored Roger Bacon, the philosopher who advocated modern science. He disguised himself as Veranimus, an alchemist who sensed the pre-immortal nature of Bacon and housed him when Bacon met his First Death in 1254. The two immortals spent a few decades in the company of Xanthia of Melitus, travelling Europe and trying to bring modern science to a world that was going through the darkness and supersticions of the Middlke Ages.
It is those supersticions that did him in when he was convicted of sorcery by the Inquisition and burned to a stake, in spite of Rebecca and Roger's best efforts to free him. Virgil went through the agony of being burned alive and took one decade to recover psychologically.
After recovering from this ordeal, he sailed sailing to south-east Asia where it is written in a private journal, he wrote during the 14th and 15th century that he found a way to reach the not yet-discovered American continent where he travelled during two centuries, making for himself a place among the Maya civilisation where he mentored a two hundred years old immortal woman, Carmen de la Pica Morales, who had lived unaware of her immortality and of the perils of the Game. Virgil taught her what she needed to know and helped her forge a sword for herself.
Cross-referencing with Chronicles of the 16th Century allow to identify him as a mysterious Spanish immortal who appeared in Honduras in 1526 America and fought the invasion of Cortez' conquistadores, fighting immortal Isabel of Navarre, diabolical second-in-command to Cortez responsible for the death of hundred Mayas to a standstill in 1530.

After the destruction of the Mayas by Cortez and Pizarro, Virgil was so disgusted by mortal's savagery that he made his way up north, toward the region of Canada and Alaska. His journal stopped there. He abandoned it in a secret chamber on Vancouver Island, where it was found and claimed by Watchers over a century later.
Virgil himself eventually crossed the Bering Strait in the company of Samoyde whale-fishers, and traveled across Russia, returning to the comparative civilization of Europe where he vanished from Watchers records.

Virgil settled in France in 1879 and, under the name of Jules Verne, wrote works of science fiction so visionary that his nom de plume is still famous throughout the literary world. In 1888, he is involved in the infamous Hunt for Jack the Ripper with twenty other immortals, including the legendary Whitechapel Trio.
Today, Virgil lives in Heraklion under the name of writer Vincent Scagliese and toys with epic poetry that is never published; for amusement, he also forges 'undiscovered' Shakespearean plays and plants them where antiquarians and scholars can find them.
